YouTube Channel
I have several AdSense accounts plastered on old dead blogs since 2007. I'm at AS top-tier (I think) but just found it easier/steady years ago just to focus more elsewhere. That said, the money for a period or two was very good.
Anyway, since then, I've stacked with no real worries other than various taxes/insurances. I want to get back to traveling and decided to become a digital nomad for the next few years. I can pull a business visa in a few Asian countries and want to set up shop there. I come from a very authentic creative background spending over three decades (grew up there) in the San Fernando Valley. The heart of the television and movie business. This means, that growing up with people in the business creativity (from nothing) is rather easy. So my question is simple? My channel will be about catching or being with people who catch seafood and then cook it in various styles with the local cultures from around the world. I'm not concerned about marketing or making money for the first year or two. More so, hiring post-production work, episode writers, costs, or how you got started? Any direction would be helpful and I thank you in advance. |

Just start filming what you like - film what YOU would like to see - a video that YOU would watch, if someone else made it...
Writers, post etc? Why bother? Just make it organically, and keep it real. |

You did much better than me with 3 seconds before I had to mute. The basic rule of YouTube success is to be as loud, obnoxious and annoying as possible. Lots or yelling, wooping, yeeeeeha, and random loud noises will make your videos a hit. That's how PewdiePie got so big and that's the formula this lady is using

Is that how PewdiePie made it? I never watched his channel but know about him since he's been # 1 since forever. Is he obnoxious and loud ? I just assumed he had great content or was lucky to be an early adopter/starter.

I remember watching a video he posted a few years ago where he came clean about all that. He admitted it was all an act to gain followers and that he's not really like that in real life. He's since then posted normal content that's more down-to-earth and easier to watch (and listen to) |

... So you get lucky and get a good domain in the subject (Cooking) you wanted. Must have SM accounts and what is your best advice if the name/domain phrase is already taken?

I should say I don't make YouTube videos but I do watch a lot of them ... Re the videos, I would just not worry about all the fine details too much, just go ahead and make your first videos, and upload them. You will get feedback from YouTube. - Presentation style should be upbeat and good pace of delivery. - Make sure camera is of reasonable quality, and use image stabilisation. - Make sure your audio is OK, and windproof your mic. Check your sound levels so people don't get deafened by changes in volume. - Obvious one, but take a look at stats for other channels to see what is working. - Title and thumbnail are critical to video's success. - Try and upload on a regular schedule. Good luck. |
