How do you escape the heat? Especially when there's no air conditioner and no fan either.

I go to the public toilets and lay down in the puddles in front of the urinals. Extremely refreshing if its a cold concrete or tiled floor...

Yes, wet sheets were in use. It wasn't even the heat that was as debilitating as the stuffiness of the room.

Here's what I do when I'm home & need to cool myself down.

Run your head under cold tap for 10 seconds...once you take your head out from the tap, water will run down your back adding to the cooldown. This is basically a much tamer version of doing something (more effective) like jumping in a lake. It's just a quick way to cool down. It's important the water is nice and cold. Also drink a lot of water aswell. Stupidly simple but it does help when its hot as shit.

There aren't many public toilets here so we do what we can to survive.

Personally I keep my beer very cold while making sure to stay extremely hydrated.

Our AC went out last month and needed to be replaced. A few days later I got COVID. It was a huge mess. We had to wait until I was past COVID to get companies come over and give bids, then get on the schedule... It took nearly a month.

I got by with a small portable AC unit I bought on Amazon for $300. Luckily it wasn't too hot out then.

Now it's freaking nice....

I think having few public toilets is better for meeting people because they become more busy. Like back in the day when they had outdoor toilets with 4 seats so the whole family could poo together, except it won't be your family because that's weird AF.

That would be super. Luckily, I live in a place with a thriving toilet enthusiast community, and we have different venues for different meets etc... Now covid is less prevalent, things have really started picking up again, with action in most toilets, most nights...

Once upon a time, 40-45 Celsius was absolutely normal for being outdoors all the time, and even on the beach.

But the years go by

When I was in Colorado I’d hang out in the mountains or go swimming in mountain steam. Just being next to the stream was much cooler. However here in FL I pretty much don’t go outside during the day. You have to do everything early or late even going to a lake or the ocean it’s still hot as fuck.

hasn't been bad here the past couple of days but overall hot as fuck

I don't use my a/c as it's a waste of energy and bad for the environment, just drink lots of ice water and cold veggie broth and have a love affair with my very powerful fan. also space out my workouts so like 15 mins at a time instead of a full hour at once. same with cam, no back to back sessions

for my cats I put ice cubes in their water dish and rinse my hands with water to brush over their fur. not like I soak them or anything, they actually like it. helps cool them down

one of my cats is a rescue who escaped from an exotic cat mill about 20 miles from where my mom lives in Canada in the very far north. she was this scrawny emaciated little thing who followed us home from a hike in the woods one day. barely had any fur, she'd obv been out there fending for herself for weeks if not months

now she has fur on top of fur, fluffiest cat I've ever seen

with the water trick on her fur even she's doing fine. my other cat was born in JA, much less fur, don't have to worry bout her overheating as much

if you have cats it def helps

but yeah, hot as fucking hell
