:2cents Price points question

We've decided that we want to start monetizing some of our ebook titles based on the traditional membership based business model, currently they sell for between $9.95 - $19.95 to the consumer for each title.

We want to charge a minimum of $14.95 a month for access to several of them in membership format (theyll be getting regularly updated with new content) but also would like to offer multi-month subscription price points for 3, 6 & 9 months.

Based on the $14.95 monthly cost, where would you guys say we should go price wise for 3, 6, and 9 month initial billing followed by $14.95 monthly rebills once the initial period has ended?

Initially we thought of using the following price points but we're not sure if they are competitive enough while not shooting ourselves in the foot under-valuing the content.

$14.94 - Monthly.

$39.95 - 3 Months, rebilling at $14.95 month.

$69.95 - 6 Months, rebilling at $14.95 month.

$99.95 - 9 Months, rebilling at $14.95 month.

Is there an equation you use to figure out price points when it comes to offering discounts for multi-month intial sales followed by monthly rebills?

We also considered just offering flat price points, without the discount but arent sure if that would be disadvantageous long-term?

1 - $14.95 (Monthly)
3 - $44.85 (Rebills every 3 months)
6 - $89.70 (Rebills every 6 months)
9 - $134.55 (Rebills every 9 months).

Anyone have any thoughts on these types of billing option and any advice on the best way we should be approaching the subject of initial vs. recurring billing options for the consumer?

TIA
