Who sells reliable shared hosting scalable to dedicated later?

I'm old and looking to start small with a few mainstream sites, then push some affiliate stuff, and eventually go dedicated.

I want shared with unlimited domains, unlimited bandwidth, etc.
I'm starting SUPER small. Like, boutique lifestyle blog small.

for cheap and fast shared go with A2, especially if you need WP. they optimize their servers for WP installs.

unlimited domains, bandwidth, disk space, etc.

they do have dedicated servers and VPS too. when you get that size tho, there's better dedicated server options.

i put a lot of little stuff on A2 like email, marketing, WP...

Contabo has scaling between VPSs and dedicated servers. I don't know if the scaling works between VPS <-> dedicated though, but you could ask them.

people have had is sues with contabo and adult, if you get a single dmca they suspend you without warning.

Yeah, that's what DMCA does... Literally any hosting company (and service provider) follows that same rule. Don't break it and you'll be fine.

Yeah, so that’s not how it works. Should result in the content being disabled within a reasonable amount of time, having your whole hosting account suspended is simply immature.

as brad from mojo says thats not how it works, if its a legit dmca the content is taken down, not account suspended, leaving your whole site hostage.

How can a hosting company disable "content" on a VPS? Your VPS is a rented virtual server. From the company's perspective it's either up or down.

If the customer is managed, we would have access and remove it provided they had requested we do it for them. If a customer is unmanaged, we would notify them and expect action taken within the legal timeframe of 72 hours. I don't really see what's so funny about any of this. That is literally how DMCA works.

you will go into your customer's account and remove files? that's strange behavior. don't go thru client files. suspend the account or mind your own business. "managed" or not.

word to the wise, dont let any hosting company have this much control over your files. none of them should be going thru your files looking for content. that is a mortal sin in hosting.

you should have backups. if they suspend you, run it on another host. they are a dime a dozen.

hosts should delete files of suspended or cancelled accounts, not look thru their files. i don't even look at my client's sites unless they ask for help. i'd be questioning the data privacy policy after this comment.

you probably would have been better off not trying to pitch so much in one thread. why even discuss DMCA if you are trying to pitch business? poor sales logic here

What does that have anything with TOS or privacy laws? Requested, means client send ticket like this "if i receive DMCA, please go to folder that and that and move/delete associated file"(move would be better solution in case of fake DMCA).
Usually you would need to pay someone to do this yet they do it as part of management service, giving extra value.

that seems like a pretty odd scenario unless the customer is completely clueless. in that case, this policy is even more dangerous because they won't even know what you're doing in their files. i can't imagine any of the hosts i've had in the last 25 years editing files for me.

A2 is a terrific host, especially for small business. Unfortunately, they don't allow adult content.

This, right here, is what happens when you pay 20 USD a random useless forum bot to post for you in hosting threads to get you leads. It also shows this guy never had a website anywhere making more then 0.01 USD. Contabo is attrocious. Anyone that even remotely values their business would not host there anything (not just adult related). Their dmca handling is based on their own not understanding and fear. Thus makes you wonder how clear their books are.

they dont allow you send out going mail which sucks for site owners that rely on email sending for different cms, so you are stuck with using a smtp service like mailgun, or using googles gmail smtp, which is annoying to setup.

also support response times arent that quick vs a dedicated adult host.

I think there are not as many hosting threads because there are not as many hosts these days. Most industry folks appear to be using Mojohost or Vacares, except for a few huge or very tech players who self-host or use Amazon stuff. Who am I missing?

I pay $30 for a 32GB dedicated server, just get a dedicated server from the start, you will be paying almost that much for regular hosting, might as well drop another $10 and get a server
