				 | Bugger me - End of an era! I opened a 2nd account with Lloyds when my local Barclays closed, just for the ability to cash foreign cheques. Now the local branch of Lloyds is closing end of year... |

				 | I am with Barclays Bank and have not had this email. While it is probably applies to all customers, it also may be they allow there (VIP customers (me) to keep paying in checks. That said, I think most payments I get these days are Paxum and Paypal. I do get the odd check, so it will be interesting next time I go. To note I also have a business account with them, so they may treat that differently. One suspects this may be because of pressure on banks to prevent criminal activities, and may deem non UK checks harder to trace. In truth I could see UK banks also not accepting payments from Paxum at some point and possibly PayPal.

				 | Checks weren't accepted in any bank in most of EU for like a decade.

I tried pass a cheque like 10 years back here in Spain & was told, Sabadell doesn´t accept any more, and likewise for Natwest in the UK, they´re not just old, but obsolete I do remember using business cheques back in the early 2000´s... but not since 2010

				 | I just had some bodywork done on a car and the guy requested a check. My response was: who even has checks anymore?! I have turned off checks as any payment type for any of my accounts. Too much work when it's completely unnecessary. Storefronts and larger deals perhaps, digital world? Strong no.
