Is it better to not add salt to food ?
I follow a porn and fitness model who does videos about fitness and sport, the guy has really a sportif body and he is a successful porn model with videos getting millions of views, the guy always says that one of his secrets is that he does not add salt to food, he says that the wrost food taste the best it is for health. Do you think that not adding salt to food has really any benefits? I think the opposite since salt itself contain useful nutritional ingredients like Sodium.

Why would you give a shit what some stunt cock with a "nice" body says about nutrition? And what the fuck does his video view count have to do with his supposed knowledge about nutrition?
If you're sedentary mostly, you probably don't need that much salt. If you train hard for anything (oly lifting, powerlifting, bodybuilder, marathons, etc) or otherwise sweat a lot, then you probably need a shit load. Staying well hydrated helps keep blood pressure at healthy levels. Sodium(salt) helps with hydration. For information like this, listen to people like Layne Norton (successful bodybuilder + powerlifter + PHD in Nutrition). Not some stunt cock who doesn't know shit about fuck. |

Salt causes you to retain water, which you don't want if you're going for that vascular look.
However, I think it's more important to actually be healthy then to look like some idea of healthy, so for that reason I would recommend moderation in all things, including salt.

Too little salt is just as bad for you as too much.

Salt causes hypertension, a #1 killer of males over 50. And no, you do NOT need to add salt, there is too much salt in "the bits" you use to cook with already.

like everything, a little is good for you...
If you´re cooking with meats & pastas, salt gives food flavour & salt helps water around the body. Salt thickens blood, so when the blood is thinned in hot countries, salt helps with thickening the blood, and while can help retain water, with swollen ankles where the water is retained, salt can provide the ability to reduce the swelling

As someone who is into a healthy lifestyle, I consume a lot of salt, its my source of electrolytes while fasting. My blood pressure is very low, usually 100/60. I suggest you cut carbs instead & you will not have any issues with high blood pressure.

I never add salt. Not because I'm afraid of it, but mostly just because there is already alot of salt in certain foods.
And if I am eating at a fancy restaurant, I always assume that the cook used exactly the right spices to present me with exactly the taste in the food that he or she wants me to experience, so adding salt would just ruin the artist's work.

Made an alfredo pasta tonight with no salt. Using primo trottole pasta, it was filling but absolutely fucking boring.
To jazz it up, I made a cream sauce of peppercorns, sesame oil, fresh bacon bits, a little salt, a little brown sugar, cardamom and a teeny tiny bit of paprika. Dipping the trottole alfredo pasta in the peppercorn sauce was divine, also made some to-die-for french bread garlic toast with whipped butter and spices. Long live salt! >dies from heart attack at 55<

Given how most prepared foods already have salt (especially if you eat out), his advice MIGHT be sound...
But... if you cook your own food, it's a good idea to add a LITTLE BIT of salt. Why? Electrolytes |

I cut excess salt out of my diet in 2014 when I was diagnosed with cirrhosis and now that I've beat it, I still stayed salt free. It's easy after you get used to it and now I'm very sensitive to salt and don't even really like it anymore.
I'd be very surprised if I even get 1000mg daily. I used to track it at first but after a while, your taste will adjust and you don't have to be so diligent about it because salty foods won't be attractive to you anymore. |
