The History of GFY

My husband first registered in 2001 and had a long sleeve GFY T-Shirt sent to him by Lensman as being one of the first 50 to register on GFY.

He attended many GFY gatherings.

Recently with a few other "older" webmasters he was on a podcast reliving the history of online adult industry.

How many other places have gone by the wayside?

GONE:
PornResource
iBill
CozyFrog

DEAD:
Paul Markham: Photographer, probably one of the best ever (Heart Failure, cancer)
David Lace: Photographer, one of the largest ever collections (Heart attack)
JFPDude: Content guy, photographer (Drug Overdose)
Turboface: Traffic, scammer (Patrick Tither, suicide)
TurboAngel: Traffic, scammer (Last information was rehab, then silence)
LowKeyTx: Photographer, arrested for child p***, (James Greuel, Cancer)
GraphicsByTia: Graphics, Banners, Buttons (Suicide)

So many webmasters have died from this forum that actually helped shape the adult industry, it is now a skeleton of what it once was.

Looking at PRE 2005 webmasters, how many are actually left here on GFY?

Boneprone
Lensman
SexToyKing

anyone else left?

Paul had cancer but his actual cause of death was from Heart Failure. I know it's anal to write that, but even his wife said it was heart failure.

One of the best photographers in the world for Adult Images, hands down, ever.

I updated it for you.

Killswitch: Programmer, affiliate (Dead, inside)

I wish I still had my GFY shirt, mine was long sleeve red one, so not the first 50 but a later stage. I think I originally joined in late 2001.

MaxCash (Bottos, MikeFold, etc...) - What was that shitty magazine they did for a yr or so after shuttering MaxCash?
WebOverdrive (Snoops/Dondrea & Karen)
TomsNewbieBooster (A cool guy, met him in London several years back when we met Aga at Spearmint Rhinos one night)
NetPond
AdutRevenueService (Marc & Becky Deforest, JohnV)

Plus a ton more of the 'names' from back in the day.

Don't forget Marc Womack we lost not too long ago.

I didn't know TurboFace and TurboAngel passed. I knew too many of these names in real life.

Dirty D, Jfk. The list is getting long.

Ok wow I didn't realize it was heart failure.

Turboface: Traffic, scammer (Patrick Tither, suicide)

Are you sure about this one? A quick Google search takes me to a LinkedIn page that was updated 3 weeks ago.
