I'm in the process of starting an affiliate program for my content/digital products.
As an affiliate, how much of a percentage do you expect to receive?
I've checked out other affiliate programs in adult, and I see that it's usually 10 percent. My average order is usually around 10 USD though.

Is recurring commission important to integrate into the program, and if so, how much should it be?

Has anyone tried AffiliateWP or can they recommend any other plugin/program, obviously without censorship.

Depends on the product probably, but 10% seems way too low.

Programs with regular paysites usually pay 40-60% revshare.

10% is pretty low. Most affiliates want at least 50% in adult.

Revshare means to continuously pay every client they have referred, and not just once, correct?

Start researching some Adult Affiliate Programs with paysites as the product. If you are selling sex toys, games, dick pills etc then it is a different percentage but mostly it is 50% revshare.

I have done so the past days, but I'd also like some input from affiliates themselves. What make them choose one program over the other, and what is a dealbreaker or a lucrative deal etc.

When you write mostly are you referring to cam affiliates like chaturbate or LiveJasmin?

Do toys, games and dick pills have a different percentage because their product generally cost more?

A toy or a dick pill is a physical product what needs to be produced, shipped etc. Therefore you can't really compare it with digital products (membership, video download etc)...

Apparently using GFY as a research tool. But English is probably not his 1st language so it's a bit hard to tell what he is after here.

I mean, if you want to know what % affiliate programs employ, or what the cut is etc, then visit some APs and find out.

What makes an affiliate choose an AP? Tools, convenience, curiosity, a particular niche...but mostly it's $$$ and how much the aff gets (and when).

A new affiliate program is a WASTE OF TIME unless you bring 3 things to the table:

1) High and stable conversion rate
2) Multi-tiered incentives program - you want to reward greater and greater success
3) Affilate content support that goes beyond the crappy 'industry standard'

This advice applies for BOTH adult and mainstream

I agree in part, that said, *if* their product *is* unique then there's no reason that they shouldn't bring a new program to the table, especially if the customer demand is there

Of course, if it *is* unique enough, there's also no reason why they'd need to stick with the normal affiliate payout model(s) in adult.

Don't forget that over the last 20+ years there have been a lot of programs and products launched that have sold very well in the industry, even though they didn't adhere to the norm payouts... Going as far back as programs like Evidence Eliminator, MoneyTree Dialers, etc, etc...
