Disney releasing anti-army movie

From: http://drudgereport.com/bufsol.htm

DISNEY/MIRAMAX SET TO RELEASE FILM DEPICTING AMERICA MILITARY AS DRUG DEALERS, CRIMINALS; TIMING SEEN FUELING IRAQ WAR CONTROVERSY

"Here in the UK no one gets upset, but over there, where the President is fighting these military campaigns in the name of democracy, the first casualty seems to be freedom of speech, the cornerstone of any democracy." - BUFFALO SOLDIERS Director Gregor Jordan

The WALT DISNEY CO. is set for maximum controversy when it releases a "warts-and-all" portrait of U.S. Army life with the fuss-film BUFFALO SOLDIERS.

As American men and women put their lives on the line in Iraq and other locations throughout the world, DISNEY and its subsidiary MIRAMAX have set a July 25 opening for the story of enlisted man running a profitable drugs and stolen goods business out of an Army base!

It's a comedy that features people in the military, big fucking deal.

Don't tell me that Police Academy was an anti-police movie and Airplane was an anti-airline industry movie?

The real headline should read:

Disney releases movie that isn't government approved propaganda, Bush administration very upset.

Filmed in late 2000/early 2001 using primarily British funding, Miramax signed a deal to become the US distributors - on September 10th, 2001.

Oops!

Empire magazine review:

http://www.empireonline.co.uk/review...=&r=0&f=0&cp=1

"At its Sundance premiere, one enraged patriot lobbed a bottle at the screen, though, like a smart bomb, it went awry and hit an old gentleman in Row 3 on the head. "

yep, pretty much what I thought... even before reading anything on the film...

Its not even about Iraq...
"After two-and-a-half years of mysteriously going awol, Australian director Gregor Jordan?s military satire finally yomps onto the big screen."
http://www.empireonline.co.uk/review...=&r=0&f=0&cp=1

Looks like the american army is now sacred like religion would be... and its taboo to make fun of it.. like they did with the cops in Police Academy...

no, it should be Disney, realizing they have a shitty movie on their hands, launch an unfounded controversy to draw some attention to their shitty movie
