No more rebills anyone get this email?

Attention Webmasters,

If you are using Universalpass.com, Allmalepass.com, or Agerated.com this information affects you!

As you may have heard Visa/Mastercard have tightened the chargeback restrictions, making reoccurring processing an impossibility. It is for this reason that we are changing our business model as of 8/1/03 and will no longer be rebilling Customers. With this change, there will be a change in the commission payouts. We will be paying $12.00 to $15 per subscriber and $2 referral bonuses (No Exceptions) we are making this change so that we can stay in business processing for you guys long term. Many other companies will be following this path soon.

Thanks you for your time!

Universal Pass Team,

Dammit I knew it.. I planned for it.. and if it does happen I am going to go drinking and crying silently in my Mc Donalds apron which I am going to wear if they stop rebilling all my members.

URGH!

From what I have read in other posts here (don't remember which one, but somebody had a buddy at Visa who told him something big was coming but he could divulge the details) this is the be first announcement of many (all) that will eventually lead to the end of rebills.

I doubt rebills will stop. I think they will still offer them however setting it up like Verotel or Multicards or somebody like that.

Once the customer signes up he has the option if he wants to rebill. If he chooses this option after 30 days he gets an email asking them if he wants to rebill and he has to click the link inside the email.

If he doesn't click it, he won't be rebilled, if he does he will.

Verotel has been doing this for a while.

repost from yesterday: (this makes sense since no more rebills)

I use Probilling, Globil, and Globosale, and am adding 2000charge, still geting rebills.

My non adult site are starting to produce enough income to sustain my existance.

http://www.affordable-office.com is now gaining every week and now I am three day from opening my latest endevore.

http://www.mmiidevelopments.com

wish me luck.

I am afraid of the control Visa and Mastercard hold over our business. Any day now things could change quickly.

Hope everyone is saving every cent they make for their future.

I have decided to skip Internext until Los Vegas. I may be out of the biz by then.

I will be looking for offers one my sites which all funnel into one main archive. It make six figures after all costs and is rising. It takes me one hour every day (7 days a week) and ten hours Saturday or Sunday, which ever I have time.

I will miss all you guys this has been fun and enlighting. Once you have semi-mastered this very competitive field you can easily be the best in the non-adult fields.

have a good life.

Gotta dissagree here 100%. The "Fine Print" is why were are in the mess we are in now. We HAVE to start being more upfront about what is gonna happen when they enter their credit cards on our sites or we are gonna still get chargebacks up the ass.

My last rebills with Ibill were also on the 17th ( I do not do new signups with them ...) .

On the other hand, this is on the CMI:

Yeah mate that was me. It's great when you get you and your mate get drunk in the hot tub.

These were only tabled suggestions presented for feedback internally in visa. I mentioned that one was the rollback of Adult processing which I dismissed as impossible because of the loss of profit. Not so sure now. I never realised it was only 1% of visa transactions. I kinda get the feeling Visa fell into processing for porn, and didn't know what to do about it.

Oh yeah AVS is dead incase you didn't know. Got that from an AVS head today. Just a matter of time.

Nope, I don't run paysites. But I think it is pretty shitty to say that you can get a 3-day paid/free trial to a site, then bury it in the terms that if you don't cancel within 24 hours PRIOR to the end of your trial you will be rebilled.

Very deceptive. That surfer is not truly getting a 3 day trial, because they would need to cancel after 2 days if they wanted to cancel. It they waited the full 3 days to cancel, they would be too late and charged anyway. And we wonder why chargebacks are so high!

I swear if half you people would spend as much time working on getting more traffic and sales as you do worrying about what you cannot change IF things were to happen, you would be better off.

I hope not, that would really suck for the Industry. All those AVS users (including myself) would flood the TGP and link list sites with their AVS sites they were converting. Everybodies piece of the pie would be greatly diminished I believe.

Of course, if you are talk the term AVS and the way we think of it now being dead, that is cool cause it is now called AEN - LMAO

I'm on summer vacation from Porn. I choose to deal with the Summer slowdown by not working the summers (in porn that is).

Not to mention, for some strange reason, most of the rumors that have come up as of late on the message boards have a weird way of coming true so if we didn't spend all this time here, we would all be clueless about the shit that is happening.

Hey I can't agree with that. There will also be a flood of proven CC using surfers who hit the same sites. Anyhow, its supply and demand ... there are too many webmasters at the moment, so of course some will drop off. I used to do well on tgp 6 months back, and now I don't even touch it. I still do better sales than I ever did, so you just have to look at other methods.

However I know for a fact that AVS has limited time left. They will try to tell you otherwise, and some will change their ways to become complient, but AVS as we know it is dead.

These Universial pass people must have the worst chargeback ratio ever, i'd guess 3% +

They can't keep rebilling these old users as they now are going to be put of of business cause of Visa 1%.

So the way the fix it is make no more rebills and since all there customers are signing up for real, hopefully they will process enough and have 0.2 chargebacks over the next couple of months to bring them below 1% in a couple of months time.

I sure as hell wouldn't sell using any company that had a chance of being put of of biz by visa. If they go down you don't get a cheque.

Aren't they the first "free avs"? Don't they use CCbill? Aren't they STILL paying 20 per FREE signup while the other bastards offer 15 on a paid trial? Case closed....

If you want to build sites just for traffic, use ProAdult
If you want to make sales, use Sexkey

I'm going to venture to say that this statment probably has a lot of truth to it. There doesn't appear to be any other reason to stop rebills other than having a high CB%

Interesting way to "fix" the CB problem....dispense with rebilling altogether. WHy not just email the user first before they rebil instead of killing rebills altogether? Does this have something to do with supposedly upcoming VISA news re rebills?

I agree with KK.

Why does everybody spend so much time worrying about recurring ending. I have not heard one thing about it ending from anyone. In addition, they could lower the cb ratio to .5 and we would still be under compliance. I guess thats b/c we dont do payper signup and our sites happen to actually be updated weekly.

Agreed.

It's too much fucking work trying to keep up with this speculation bull shit. I'll wait for official announcements before I start to panic, and even then there's nothing to panic about.

You guys need to relax and just roll with the punches. Having a heart attack due to stress isn't going to help anyone.

if there's a danger that Visa will stop processing porn, an alternative solution must be found...
I hope someone is already looking for it...

but I see that Sausage is relaxed too

Where theres a need there will be a solution. I'm relaxed because I know if that happenes there will be a solution, and hell ... I don't have 2 sports cars, a mansion, and an expensive lifestyle to maintain.

I don't get it... why all the fuss?
MC went to 1% a while ago, and no one lost ability to use MC. Why is Visa different?

Scrubbing will be worse and revenues will shrink overall.

Some proggies that have high cb ratios will be dropped, but that's actually in the control of the webmaster: if he answsers his email and provides the content he says he has, there is no problem.

I'm well below 1%, have been since I started in '97. Not a problem, just be ethical. Ethics does cost money, I make less than people who do shit, but that's ok and I'll still be in business long after the scammers are gone. I am under 1% because I never did "free trials" that fucked people in the fine print. I always had cancel links on all pages. I have always stated that "you will be rebilled monthly until you cancel" right under the join links, even before it was required. I always answer my email. It's pretty basic, and I still do $20K per month. Isn't that enough?

My biggest fear is that the scammers will drag down the industry for everyone, including me. I hope cooler heads prevail and only the scammers will be dropped instead of the entire rebill model.

I just got off the phone with Pete over at Agerated, they also run Universalpass and allmalepass.

He explained that although many billers still allowed rebilling, they made this move to be fair to the surfer. He went on further to explain that they are going with more of a mainstream program, and will be offering a 1 year, 2 years, and lifetime memberships! (Sounds like Proadult or Cyberage). He says bottom line no rebills = lower CB rate, lower CB rate = More control ones merchant account.

I trust these guys 100% they have been around for almost 7 years! and I have been using them for almost 2, they are making this move beacuse they know something. There is a major shake up due in the next 3 months! so hang on!

Why Do the credit card companies hate the charge back so much?
Is it because they don't like the trouble of someone calling up
and taking up their support peoples time to handle shit?

Why does everybody spend so much time worrying about recurring ending. I have not heard one thing about it ending from anyone. In addition, they could lower the cb ratio to .5 and we would still be under compliance. I guess thats b/c we dont do payper signup and our sites happen to actually be updated weekly.
Sounds like a nice operation you have there.

Maybe I'll send you some traffic
