What to do in Scottsdale, AZ

I'm headed to Scottsdale/Phoenix area to get away from the rain for a few days (next Thurs to Sun). Any suggestions on where to eat and hang? Got 130K Marriott points, so staying at Marriott Desert Ridge for free. Couple things:

I'm not gonna golf down there.
Already have some horse back riding scheduled (gonna pretend I'm a black cowboy!)
Probably not gonna hit the club scene; but wouldn't mind hitting a nice bar.

Let me know peeps what I should do (other than admire than Arizona State coeds). Thanks in advance.

Sucks I can't help, I will be going back again in march and then again at the end of march for the phoenix forum. However from what I experienced last time. Scottsdale is the place to go for clubs and that's it. Well and a few really nice bars, that sort of turn club like at night on fri and sat. Otherwise everything else you want is in Tempe. I found alot better restaurants, etc in Tempe. Plus closer to the university girls strolling around for some nice eye candy.

Im younger so I just stick around University drive and meet some girls and then ask them what theyre up to later. Good reason to talk to the locals, if youre wondering whats good and where to go on a certain night. Some places are better depending on the night so.

Where you leaving from anyway?

Seattle.

I was in Arizona for 2 days a few weeks ago, just passing through on some business. It was fucking COLD and raining. The taxi driving didn't know how to turn on his defroster lol.

Decided to head back for some R&R. It is cold and rainy in Seattle right now (what else is new during the winter)

Nice, flying im assuming? Rain and cold? Wow. lol unlucky timing for you.

I did the drive from Vancouver through Seattle and all that last year and loved it. I will do the drive again both times in March because its nice having the car there, plus you get to spend a little time in cali while passing through.

I can go a long time without sleep and enjoy driving alot so that helps too.

You can go to the casino's! There is great dinning up in North Scottsdale, if you like fine dinning I suggest The Ocean Club. Great Shopping and people watching at Kirerland. There is good hiking at the camelback mountain. Let me know if you need more idea's

Check out the Barcelona restaurant one night! It's got a nice restaurant, a cool lounge, outdoor sportsbar, dance floor, and live entertainment. It's like 5+ places in one.

If you're bored during the day, hike up Camelback Mtn. Really cool views!

For a great steak up by where you're staying Fleming's

I would recommend taking a short drive north to Carefree as well. Nice patio dining
