Troll thread - guns and ammo: US vs. the World
The sad part is that an average gun owner in 90pct. cases won't be able to fire a shot at a human being unless he did so in the past - > mortality increases, plus there's the regular misuse by minors / blackouts / cowboys drawing guns in unappropriate situations etc.
Logically, we can't expect that there is 8 times more criminals in US per 1000 citizens than in other countries, yet there is 4 - 8 times more armed conflicts and gun wounding, so yes having more guns in the streets really does lead to more carnage. BUT let's see the bright side: - 70 milion legal guns in the streets (and a whole mass of illegal ones) is an excellent business - impossible to regulate because of the point above and the culture So although the fact that a regular US citizen has three times higher chance to get shot than a soldier serving in Iraq won't change anytime soon, the steady demand for guns and ammo is creating jobs and happiness! Think about it next time when you're going to bash someone! If some people wouldn't be shot, some wouldn't have jobs!
