I get so fucking MAD when I see or hear about stuff like this ...

I was just sitting down to dinner last night and this came over my local TV News .. I get so angry and frustrated sometimes ... I am always torn between JOY for the fact they are busted then sorrow and sadness for the children .. makes me fucking sick to my stomach ..

I saw this on the news last night. The thing I found interesting was that they mentioned they tracked people by tracking files which reported back to them ip addresses. I guess I'm just desensitized to shitty shitty news, but all I could wonder was if the law can somehow track files this way, why isn't it easier for legal content producers in the industry to track their files being shared?

It's 2009 buddy, were all a little desensitized. But you raise a valid argument.

It doesn't surprise me, but kids are off limits.. In any way, be it pr0n / physical abuse / verbal abuse... It's all fucked up.

I remember a friend telling me yrs ago he had designed and offered software to the US Feds that they could add as a cookie or something to ALL adult content that would search comps for CP and report back findings to the Feds .... From what I was told they declined the software.. I for one would make sure I was running it and would promote it globally without question ..

They do it for music and software piracy.

You can't get companies to come together to stop something they profit from.

Adult industry also doesn't ever want the government involved.

I don't think that they really could accept something like that, be it a good thing or otherwise. We've all dealt with tracking cookies, but widely distributing a file that scans the harddrive and reports details back regarding hd contents sounds more along the lines of a worm, and regardless of the context it is being used in would surely open up one shitstorm of a debate. Even if being used to fight crime, it's surely going to be considered an invasion of privacy, and probably illegal. Unless of course every piece of adult content bound with said files comes with a warning, and even people with nothing to worry about are gonna be a little weary when you start telling them 'this porn video is going to scan your harddrive and report it's findings to the feds'.

I mean, how exactly do they determine what is suspected childporn and what isn't without having access to the data? Is the worm going to send copies of all suspected media files back to a central database for screening or something? Keylog everything the user does? Are they going to start doing door to door checkups on everybody who sets up a flag?

Really to me, it doesn't sound like a viable option. I think they're on the right track with what they're working on now. They just need to up the funding and up the manpower they have on their side. Any time you see an interview with the cops involved in these operations, you always hear them saying "We need more funding." Well figure something out and get them that funding!

Who said anything about the government being involved? All I'm saying is that if the government/law enforcement can track media files with this sort of success, you'd think a multi-billion dollar industry would be able to come up with a tracking system somewhat on par for the tracking of their own content.

To make money they have to have an outlet or advertising. Seems that if they are making sales, the police will find them. I hope this is one of the many things are the decline.

Oh I know there would be a shit load of legal issues with it .. on the same note .. I would endorse it in my program ...

I never thought about it. Always thought that child porn was technically underdeveloped.
I mean, who what do the processing? Always thought that at most some people would ask for your credit card details or ask for cash.
But I now believe there are actual paysites that sell cp, just like other adult webmasters do it. I was naive, I guess...

The seized images range from infants with their umbilical cords still showing to 17-year-olds. The vast majority of child pornography, about 80 per cent, depicts children under age eight, said Lianna McDonald, director of the Canadian Centre for Child Protection.

Up to 40 per cent of those images involve sexual assaults.

The punishment for cp is too light. Something like cutting their dicks and hands off, stamp on their faces about who they are and take all their rights away
