![]() Maybe its the lack of sleep for the past few days, but Im just trying to make sure that I am correct on something.
I send a visitor to a sponsor site and they put in their email and name and get a "trial" access (which is no more than a few sample galleries and videos). Then the sponsor emails them to signup for a paid membership with a link in the email. if the visitor converts to a signup (assuming the sponsor is using cookies to track conversions) makes sense that I would get the credit for the signup right? ive noticed recent drop in sales with a sponsor over the past 3 weeks, and its pretty significant, not just 10 or 20%. I have a feeling it has to do with the console they are hitting the surfer with when they leave the page after they put in their info. ive checked the console and has an internal affiliate id. i asked someone yesterday about it, but they assured me it has no impact on someone signing up. so then, you go to my site, go to a gallery, click JOIN NOW go to the page then decide you will bookmark the page and join later. you go to close out the window and you are hit with a console asking you to join now for a discounted rate or chat with a rep now. you decide not to talk to the "model" of the site and close down the browser. few hours later your ready to join, open up the bookmark and put in your credit card info. who gets credit for the sale? me because i sent the visitor there or the sponsor because they popped a console with their own tracking codes?

Cookie from the console overwrites the original cookie (your aff ID).
