New gun laws

Our state government is having problems paying for everything, then they try to pass bullshit like this. They want to make it illegal to get ammo from anyone but a licenced ammo dealer. I get ammo from my dad who reloads it, it would make it illegal for him to give it to me. What kind of idiot dreamed this up? I go shooting and use over 500 rounds each time I go and I should be able to get it from my dad. This from the people that want to make it illegal to sell black cars because it takes more fuel to keep them cool during the summer?

On June 3, the Assembly passed Assembly Bill 962 by a 42-31 vote. AB962 now heads to the Senate where it has been assigned to the Senate Public Safety Committee. Also on June 3, Senate Bill 585 passed the Senate by a vote of 21-18. It now moves to the Assembly where it will be considered by the Assembly Public Safety Committee. No hearing dates have been scheduled for either bill.

Sponsored by Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), AB962 would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a ?handgun ammunition vendor? in the Department of Justice?s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require purchasers submit to fingerprinting, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited.

SB585, introduced by State Senator Mark Leno (D-3), would prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace . In short, SB585 is a stepping-stone to banning gun shows on all publicly-owned property in California .

It's also required to pay tax on biofuel. There's an easy way to get around this - just don't.

What state is doing this?

*edit * nevermind, I see its California. That kind of explains a lot, California has some of the most fucked up laws ever. Dont know what to tell you, except to move. I'd like to live there because of how beautiful it is, but its much too restrictive on things I like to do such as offroading and shooting, etc.

Northern and Southern California are so different... you guys should split up. The politics of Southern California are going to impact Northern California more and more.

There is an exodus out of Cali because their socialism/fascism is not working.

What Cali takes in for revenue:
Personal income tax down 39.3%
Corporate taxes down 52.1
Sales tax down 7.6%

http://www.reuters.com/article/newsO...55974820090610

More stupid shit laws like the homeschooling laws and these gun laws will drive out the rest of those who wish to live freely.

I can see how a gun could be for recreation, but have you guys ever used your gun to defend yourself?

Another question.

Do you need a gun to Feel secure?

A better question is why does the state want to punish thousands of gun owners that are responsible and properly handle their weapons due to felons and ex-convicts acquiring weapons illegally?

The second amendment has little to do with recreation, personal protection and/or hunting.

With that said I dont own any guns or weapons.

the superior court already ruled on weapons,we have the right to own them

As far as feeling safe, if you put out on your front door a NRA sticker, chances of someone wanting to commit a crime on your property just went down, Criminals prefer those that are UNARMED

I have guns (certian ones) strictly for recreation. Others for sport (I hunt..) and one that I carry almost always as I am cleared to legally carry a firearm in Ohio.

I dont feel any less safe when I dont carry then when I do. I'm a rare breed, I will admit that 90% of the people who legally do own guns shouldn't be allowed to own guns at all.

Criminals will always have them, no matter what. Thats why laws like this bother me.

What is going on in Cali isn't good. I dont live there anymore, but since I still live in the states I'm aware that what happens in one place is likely to have an effect elsewhere. I hope that shit fails, and I pray we dont see it here should the "great" state of California pass it.

That said I must also say, since it is California, it will likely pass and another piece of our freedom is out the fucking window.

Correct, we do have the right to own guns.. but it doesn't say we have the rights to ammo. That's the nasty they are working.... wait until the tax goes up.

And if you can make ammo, the Gov wants to know because under some other law, they have the rights buy/take the ammo, or a % of it, before you can use or sell it.

I have personally stopped a potential crime twice by pulling my .357 and holding it by my side. Never fired a shot.

"Stella" has a way of changing bad behavior before it becomes criminal behavior.

Because it is much easier to control honest, peaceful people. Apprehending violent criminals with weapons is simply too dangerous.

His answer was referring to why politicians want to punish the innocent, not about the Second Amendment and its intentions.

They have slowly been chipping away at gun owners for a long time now. I don't think its going to stop anytime soon either. Cali won't be the only state to adopt this law I am sure others will follow.

I just don't get it, if they would do something about the people that own guns that were doing so illegaly, thats one thing, but why are they going after people that own them legally? Thats why they are MORONS! and we elected them, time for a shake up! Remeber that this is a constitutional right, how many rights do you think you will loose after they take away your guns?

Retracting the basic rights of the Bill of Rights is exactly what you are stating. It is much easier to control the honest, peaceful people. Controlling reloads is just a step in the direction of controlling the guns of the honest ones. No one really cares about controlling the criminals, because when push comes to shove, the criminals will get the weapons when they really want one. Criminals don't go and get their ID's checked and wait 7 days to get armed. They do it by nefarious means.

Apprehending violent criminals with weapons????? They will always have weapons... even when the weapons are taken from the honest people. Plain and simple. It's ridiculous to think otherwise. Criminals don't follow the rules. If you Dis-arm the people, you simply make it easier for the "state" to control the people rather than the people controlling the state as it was intended from day 1.

I hate gathering rounds from my AR-15, brass goes everywhere

You can buy brass catchers for them, they work pretty well.

One of my AR15's fires the FN 5.7mm round. Has a FN P90 50-round magazine attached to the top of the upper receiver, and spits the brass out the regular magazine well. I use a hollowed out 30rd AR magazine to catch it.

In some states you now have to fail an intelligence test in order to qualify to purchase a gun.

More weight? No, I would rather have the extra weight of something that helps me hit the target, like maybe night optics?
