Somebody help me with a techno question for webcams.com
Hi, just wondering if anybody is up late, and knows about webcams.com white label.
I'm worried about the CNAME url forwarding, will I get affiliate credit? I'm not getting a raw hit count when I click on my domain name.... thanks for your time, I don't know if I screwed it up, or if it's just fine. Here is the question I posted: Hi, not sure if I hooked this up right... http://www.theappletwinswebcamgirls.com is hooked up w/ CNAME point to: webcams.com Not sure if this is a problem, BUT, when I click on that link, I do not get a raw hit in my stats. When I click on my whitelabel link code: http://www.webcams.com/link.php?rese...in=&freechat=Y I get a raw hit count. I don't like using the link code, because we don't get our name in the address bar. Did I hook it up right? Is it a mute point, because as long as our logo is in the window, we'll get credit ? I'd like to see the raw hit count for our domain name, what did I do wrong? |

Any changes to DNS take a while to propagate. I set mine up just as their directions state, and my hits show up just fine. Give it a day and I am sure things will work.

you don't need to change anything.
You already have the domain added to your webmaster account so it will track the sales for you. Since they're in beta-testing they might have problems with tracking hits to whitelabels, so just hit them up about it. |

Thanks all, last night I changed to A record, instead of using CNAME. Seems like the same thing is happening. Only getting hit counts using the affiliate link code, and not the domain name.
I'm hoping to hear back from webcams.com one of these days. Been trying to contact them since Friday, but I guess they are a 9 to 5 weekday company. I can't wait to take weekends off myself. ![]() |
