![]() Car insurance is a scam IMO and I have State Farm.
I get my bill today and they raised my premium. Why? I was told "we didnt have [my girlfriend] as a main driver, only yourself and since you work from home, it is considered low risk." Meanwhile, she has been on my insurance for over a year now and they just find this out? She was a "secondary driver" but now for some reason they want to back date the last 9 months and charge me an additional $37 a month plus the last 9 months @ $37 each... dont think so On top of that I was being double charged for the past two months, from two different offices. So neither office wants to admit fault so I had to conference both of them in on my cell phone today and say "someone decide who is sending me a check NOW!" Finally got that resolved. Worst part, my insurance is HIGHER living in PA then it was when I lived in LA! So I'm tired of their nonsense and drama so Im just going to switch to another company. I called Nationwide today and their over the phone quote was almost 40% less than what I'm paying now with State Farm who Ive had for 10 years ![]() Icing on the cake... I have renters insurance and some stray cats got into my garage and made their home on a sofa and pissed all over some boxes. They tell me they wont covered it because "cats are domestic animals and there is now way to prove they were wild." Question: Anyone have Nationwide and happy with them? I like their commercials so Ill buy their insurance if I don't hear anything negative ![]() damn, I really need a LOT less drama in my life

Call a broker. An independent insurance agent that has 10 or 20 different companies they work with. They can shop out your insurance with all 10 or 20 companies and come back to you with the best rate.
You shouldn't have to pay extra for it, the agent gets a commission from the insurance company for it, and it's the same price through them as you would get going right to the company. Lots of companies can beat the State Farm price. That way you know you're getting a good deal, and you have a local agent to go through if you have any questions or issues.
