Stupid Extreme Cuisine type shows.
I know Andrew Zimmern had his on the Travel channel, and now Steve Corwin has his on the Food Network (which as a network is tanking, not money wise but well content wise).
They really do annoy me. I do not mind that they travel to assorted locations to try assorted dishes that either are acquired tastes, necessities to live, or well lets be honest freak show dishes for shits and giggles that we even have in the US to our own degree. Even if they are not made from strange proteins. Anyways at least in Steve's instance he really seems to do a disservice to the places he visits. They give the idea and almost take the stance that the super odd things they hunt out, skipping over some common things they do cover are everyday type fair and that is what the locals just eat. Forget that they will give bad info calling one area the culinary capitol of a given country/region when it is not. Then they bypass hundreds of years to centuries of culinary history and cuisine - to focus in on something that people rarely eat and then on top of it joke about them in the process. That or bitching about the process, tastes, etc. OK rant over. Yeah I know you couple assholes, it has nothing to do with the adult business. Get over it.

I do like Flay, Brown, Iron Chef, and a few shows left on there. Fucking sick of Guy, tired of contests, and REALLY fucking tired of them trying to make every show more like another fucking clone of 30 minute meals. We do not need constant programming of assorted women showing you how to open cans and fix something in ten minutes. Now the new show chopped is not bad. Sort of quickie Iron chef with a PMS judge on occasion and not super caliber known chefs. However at least entertaining. Whats bad is to get quality cooking shows it has gone full circle. They are all over at PBS and aside from the 2 minutes of commercials at the start, and some more during the last 5 minutes after the show is over. NO FUCKING commercials, no concerns with product placement, and well real fucking shows on cooking.

I like Bourdain and Zimmern. I'm not aware of the Corwin one.
Most of what I watch on Food Network is Good Eats. AB rocks.

Tripple D is a bit different. He does try to ham it up way to much and I do want to bitch slap the gold off him each time he makes some sort of flavor town phrase up. It does however at least showcase some interesting spots around the country that can be visited and that are also not high class places where you will drop a couple hundred bucks.
