Cannot get if this is normal or scam

I have a noob question that concerns me:
I found some paysites that have a strange way to deal with the ref ID. While many big paysites, keep the referral ID code in the url even if you move along all the pages in their site, the others just keep the ref ID only for the first page (the one linked with my ref ID who starts from my site) and it is dropped when you move from that page to the join page or others.

i.e.
Bikini Pleasure that works with ccbill. I write my ccbill ID got from bikini pleasure and when I go to this link I see my ref ID on the url, but if I move to another page inside the bikini pleasure it disappears. You see it just by clicking on this link that has not any ref ID (xxxxxxx).

you are on the gallery but if you move to another page or even in the join page, that Ref ID disappears. I found the same in many other paysites that do not use NATS and I?m wondering if there something to worry about or if it is normal and the ref ID is just kept inside some php script or whatever?
