Question/Opinion about prompting Bookmark .... - GoFuckYourself.com

Hi everyone,

Couple of answers and opinions sought on adding the "bookmark" or "add to favorites" on a mainstream or adult site where it automatically prompts the visitor to add or cancel.

1. Do you use them on any of your sites? If so, what % of visitors accept the bookmark?
2. Do you have a bookmark button or does it automatically appear (popup) to the user.
3. If it automatically appears, when do you do it, beginning, middle or on exit?

Overall what is your opinion of using the bookmark prompt.

BTW, I've seen them used on sites, but can't find even one right now when Im looking.
I'd appreciate it if some sites could be listed here that incorporate the bookmark feature.

Use one, but make it a clickable link that the end user has to initiate, and have them land at some sort of upsell.

Forcing it upon them will make them GTFO as quick as possible.

I think most people know how to bookmark a site if they like it without a prompt.

Anyone who probably clicks a bookmark prompt is a newbie and wouldnt know how to find thier bookmarks later anyway.

Years ago maybe it have had a use but with todays surfers i dont see it as a benefit..just another annoying pop up if anything.
