Paper cuts are pretty bad too, and stubbing a shin on something. Also have inadvertantly touching part of the inside of an oven that's on with your bare hand...ouchies. Toes are pretty damn bad though...I've done it enough that especially when I have lights off in the house and walking around, I walk carefully, lol.

I hear you. A few months back I smashed my left foot into the leg of a stool in my living room whilst rushing to change phones on an important call. It was evening, it was dark in the room and *SLAM*... pure utter agony for 5 minutes, and throbbing unrelenting pain for another hour or more til it calmed down. Toe right next to the baby one, damn thing turned black a few days later. I thought it was going to die and fall off and for a while there... I wished it would have.

I imagine the pain of a gunshot might be worse. I could be wrong.

Any burn can most definatly sting, especially oven or oil burns! Its not for a few hours, but ... then the pain sets in!

A few years ago I stubbed my toe. Thought it was no big deal, it hurt some but after a few minutes the pain went away. The next morning my toe (big toe) was swelled up and it hurt so bad I couldn't walk on it. It was some of the worst pain I have ever felt. So I go to the doctor and get an x-ray and they tell me I jammed it and basically have what they call "turf toe" I ended up wearing a protective cast/boot for 8 weeks until it was finally healed.

It sucked. I'll never make fun an athlete missing games for turf toe again.

Then there is the pain of having bypass surgery. that's a lot of 'fun.' I had that in July.

Hurts just by reading it. I suppose any after-surgery hurts like hell. Stomach pain is also a bitch if you have issues with it, I should know. But the worst I felt was kidneys: it hurts like a motherfucker and there's no stopping it.

In everyday pain, just thoguht of one I forgot - blisters. Especially a huge one on bottom of foot when you have to be on them a lot.

I've experienced 3 very bad non-every-day pains that all rank up there a lot:

- Dry sockets after wisdom teeth extraction (didn't feel any pain until my follow-up visit when the surgeon squirted something in it - talk about extreme sharp immediate shooting wincing pain.

- Aftermath of throat surgery - namely waking up after a couple hours sleep with throat absolutely killing, having to eat ice to get the pain lowered but having to endure harsher pain in eating the ice. That was definitely NOT fun.

- I either have IBS or Crohn's...my father has Crohn's so I might have that, but I'm betting it's IBS. Every now and then I get really gut-wrenching intestinal attacks. 90% of the time it depends on what I ate but regardless, it's usually bad enough that I'm sitting on the toilet shouting in pain.

I'm sure passing a stone is probably worse than all those but those are at least what I've experienced.

stubbing a toe is far down the list - the thing about stubbing a toe that makes it seem worse is that it's never expected, so suddenly you've got this pain, your heart's racing, blood pressure shoots up and your toe is throbbing.

who knows - it's always said that childbirth is the most intense pain, also often said kidney stones are the worst, same for a bad migraine, bad toothache, back pain

i did find my dad on the floor passed out - turned out to be kidney stones, i thought he was dead from a heart attack, he said it was just like he was shot and down he went.

all i know is that with some cancers the pain is so bad that no narcotic can ease the pain and why there's been a fight to use heroin for that type of pain, not sure where heroin is legal for doctors to use, some countries it is legal. pain has got to be fucking pretty incredible if all the pain pills we have can't ease it.

in my experience nothing is as miserable as a very bad toothache - i've had a backache as bad but with the backache occassionally i could get a position where it would be better but a toothache that is shooting through your head and with every beat of your heart it throbs worse - that's my personal worst. i've been in accidents and they're bad but you go into shock and before you know it somebody has given you something for the pain that gets it under control. toothache that just goes on for hours/days until you drag yourself to the dentist.

Different point of pain, my hand got cut and the knife was so dull it pull the skin up off my hand. Or standing outside a batting cage and a slick ball drops through, fires off at an angle, goes through the only hole in the net, and hits me straight in the jaw. One of those times you wish you got knocked out.

Or Kristin picking up a kid, tossing them in the pool, and falls into the drain cover ripping the flesh off her shin bone.
