Looking for work.

New here - however, I've become interested in getting into the adult entertainment business. Basically, I'm looking for any area of work involving language. I'm currently studying English Communications and hope to earn enough to start up a small-time blog/website and get into the 'biz'.

I can write reviews, blog entries, analyse grammar/spelling and general syntax errors. I can even write stories if such writing would tickle your fancy.

My ICQ is 561800252, or leave your email if you'd prefer to be contacted via mail.

Cheers!

A good place to start in your quest for employment in editing/writing, especially when trying to convince people of your skill in this area, would be to spell "analyse" correctly . Try "analyze" in your next post.

un⋅skilled
/ʌnˈskɪld/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [uhn-skild] Show IPA
Use unskilled in a Sentence
See web results for unskilled
See images of unskilled
?adjective
1. of or pertaining to workers who lack technical training or skill.
2. not demanding special training or skill: unskilled occupations.
3. exhibiting a marked lack of skill or competence: an unskilled painting; an unskilled writer.
4. not skilled or expert: He was unskilled in the art of rhetoric.

I'm sure your kids could also be given a copy of front page express and design a website. It's the quality of whatever media you produce that becomes important.

I'm English by birth, spelling words with 'ize' and 'ise' as an ending is generally considered neither here nor there. It's perfectly acceptable to spell analyse the way I do - as long as I keep to the form of ise/yse, that is.

I'm assuming you're American? In which case, I'd understand why you'd have an issue with it being spelt analyse - sometimes grammar isn't black and white, there's colour [sic] too.

1. Find a rate for your work that you can live with and stick to it.

2. Even if you're a pro writer, if you have no experience in adult, you are fairly unskilled in the eyes of anyone considering hiring you.

3. Grow a thicker skin. This is a site called Go Fuck Yourself.

4. Good luck.

You can start up your own blog network on any free blog host & start up your own business. If you're a good writer, within 3-4 months you'll be earning a living.

You don't need to work for anyone.

Total cost = $0......(unless you count your home internet connection)

Does this look like monster.com or workopolis.com to you? Since you aren't even in the industry to begin with, i'd relax a little bit... 9 posts and your already getting freaky. Stupid newbies.

I honestly wish you good luck in your search. However, if comments like that evoke such a reaction from you, don't take any jobs that involve having a board existence. Trust me.

I am in total agreement with Sarah - attitude and network is essential to survive and from the beginning you take great offense to anyone speaking negatively when in fact this board and others like it thrive on an industry that enjoys poking fun at one another.

In all honesty many who have worked a few years in the industry can be expected to do what you're asking - though I might try xindustryjobs.com for some further help in locating a job. Again, those who would hire would immediately be turned off by your approach and good writers know also how to creatively put someone in their place without resorting to the attacks you have presented here.

Wish you all the luck in your search

Yes! This industry needs more webmasters! Like pr0 said, put your writing skills to the test and instead of looking to work with one company, work with many and get paid from different revenue streams.
