Need some Good Movie Suggestions
I've got 5 movies left in my queue and they are all asian (korean / japanese).
I need to mix it up a little, subtitles kill my eyes. What are some of your favorite films? New or old, documentary to drama, whatever really floats your boat. Fire away! |

Food, Inc. - fantastic documentary about what's going on in the food industry
Up - I'm a Pixar fan and this is one of my favorite Pixar movies and one of my favories of this year Repo: The Genetic Opera - amazing rock opera that isn't for all tastes but I'm sure you'll love damn, trying to think of anything I've recently watched that doesn't have subtitles ;-) |

Severa good dramas I've seen recently:
1) Once You're Born You Can No Longer Hide: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418091/ 2) Lorna's Silence http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1186369/ 3) Sin Nombre/Without Name http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1127715/ 4) The Reader http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0976051/ (but you've probably seen this one already) |

I heard GI Joe really stunk from alot of different peeps. I might just wait for that one to come out on cable.
Candyflip- I LOVE Goonies. I'me made pilgramages to Cannon Beach in Oregon. Let me know if the Blue Ray is worth it. Sykk- I've been meaning to see Food Inc, thanks for the reminder. I've been on the fence about Repo. I'm just so anti musical. Is Nivek Ogre in it alot? I kind of thought he (and the rest of Skinny Puppy) was the only redeeming moment in Doom Generation. Dalia- I haven't seen any of those foreign films, thanks for the heads up on those. Skrog- all good titles. Black Christmas usually goes into rotation in our house as we get a little closer to the holiday. I tried to watch the new one once, what the hell? Maniac is also a winner. The Wrestler is good, and sad. I'm glad Mickey Rourke went back to serious drama, it's what he's best at. |

"The Hangover" is out today, so run out and pick it up, it's HILARIOUS !! AND it's on Blue Ray.
As far as G.I. Joe goes, I bought it because a couple of friends said it was good and I didn't think much of it. |

Goonies was totally worth it on Bluray. It's actually pretty cheap on Amazon.co.uk right now. About $10 or so.

I just watched a couple films with Sam Rockwell this weekend. Moon and Choke. Both quite entertaining, especially Moon.

I'm so bummed Moon wasn't in theatres by me, I really REALLY wanted to see it on the big screen. Looks like I can't rent it for another month but added it to the queue anyway.
I have seen Choke and really liked it. Friends who read the book weren't as crazy about it though. Though no one's ever put their finger on exactly why or how it dissapointed them I've read alot of Palahniuk and felt the dialog and themes stick pretty close to his writing style. Staying on the Sam Rockwell tip I'm really looking forward to Gentlemen Broncos when that comes out. I hope it gets wide release. |
