In this economy PPS or revshare?

Brand new site, with long term viability, usually a surfers last stop before buying a membership ie. review site type content., a lot of repeat traffic usually with credit card in hand.

So given these specs and this economy which do you think it would be best suited for it? Take the money and run on every sale or hope they don't learn what a torrent or tube site is?

If you are given the choice of $30-35+ PPS on trials, it's an easy decision. If the program doesn't have trials and the revshare percentage is decently high, then in that case revshare may be a better decision...

Too many people perceive that a program "rebills forever" without doing a simple $ divided by sales equation, and never realize that even though they get rebill checks like clockwork every week, they are actually only averaging $29 a member after a year, when they could have been making $35 per member right at the beginning.

Oh PPS on trials is a given that's for sure. What started this question was the one thing I noticed starting to happen a few months ago was I was getting a LOT more trial memberships where before I never got many at all and they all rebilled atleast 2 months, now not so much. I can only assume this is because of the economy.

Coming from more of a dating program background and knowing I have customers that have been rebilling for up to 8 years, I know the value of revshare in that niche. But no one ever tells you how your PPS sales rebill on this side of the industry, so it would be interesting to see.

Meanwhile though I need to make a decision, kind of curious how you came about the $29 a member average?

"simple $ divided by sales equation"

of course that's not 100% accurate, but if are you doing decent volume, it's close enough approximation of lifetime income per member...

I get a lot more than that per member per year, so not sure what figures are you using. With an average of $11 to 14 per member per month, how can you get $29 per year? Or am I understanding something wrong?

More of a quality question over an economy question as I think if the content is hot enough they will find the money especially with credit card in hand. On cams I use rev share as it's not unlikely for some members to spend $500+ a month. On pay sites if it's a solo girl that just kicks ass and updates on a consistent basis then rebills can happen. If it's a dead site or recycled bullshit then they will leave after a month as nothing new keeps them around. I use cams and solo girls as an example as I think the addiction percentage is greater for rebills as they become attached to that certain girl over a multi site where the girls always change.

I find the average site retains 2 to 3 months if it's amateur or reality based. So if it's 2 to 3 months and they're charging 25$ I think it's a safe bet to go rev share. But I'd say it all depends on what you want to risk. I find there's way too many programs paying out big PPS on trials. Then give them a year or so and poof you start hearing about late payments and no payments. I guess you can only run inthe red so long before you go belly up.

That's why I asked as well. I used too avg $15.82 a month with an avg life expectancy of 2-3 months, notice I say average and used too. It makes sense for me to take pps only on sites that payout $40 or better, but those aren't the ones I am worrying about it's the $30 PPS and less sites really. Not knowing how long my rebills go on because I take the PPS option is driving me nuts.

If the site is hot and updated rev share, if the same old same old pay per sale, ask yourself would I wank/pay for this for more than a month. you could always change it later to pay per sale if the rebills don't retain but I like building a recurring revenue stream with rev share if the site is hot anyway.

aah, if you take in account the rebilling ratio, then it's something different, but if it's a new program you're promoting how would you know? All in all, and generally speaking, I think webcams and dating usually work better as rev share, while regular pay sites may bring better results on PPS.

On the other side, when you see all the programs that are closing, I don't know if the rev share business model isn't a bit risky for affiliates nowadays

I'm not sure where the $29 number came from.

I can promise you with the right sites, even today, you can do $50+ per member for a 12 month average.
