I have a shared hosting account with hostgator and streaming high quality videos, even h.264, on there doesn't give me good results. The video is very choppy and buffers a lot. I stumbled upon bitsontherun.com, which worked GREAT. But, they don't allow adult content. Anybody have any suggestions?

Yeah, forget about shared hosting account for streaming HQ video. In general, forget about Hostgator too. Get yourself some real hosting, a good provider would be Amerinoc which also moves your site for you when you sign up. They are good guys and by getting a VPS there you should have some more power to play your videos.

amerinoc has VPS plans?

These guys can hook you up with a VPS which you can upgrade as your site grows.
