:mad Anyone having problems with Amerinoc / Phatservers?

Since last month I'm having serious problems with them.

Sometimes the whole goes down, no www, no FTP, no mail. Not speaking of terrible MYSQL responses on a simple blog install with no traffic yet!

Any of you guys having the same problems with Amerinoc / Phatservers?

Up till now they were top notch, but now I'm considering leaving them , cause I'm tired of messages like "Hello, we're aware of the trouble and your sites should be up again shortly."

Had the same problem with them starting around March time. In the end I had to move my sites hosted there elsewhere regrettably.

I've had an issue or two, but nothing too bad yet. I agree the responses can be a bit brief or vague. It'd be nice to know what the problems were, to determine whether it's something like a hard drive failure, or misconfiguration or network issues, etc...

No, I havnt had any problems myself, and have been more than happy.

However, with the constant amount of posts I am reading from others saying that they have gone downhill, and have started having a lot of issues, I am ready with my 'plan b' so the first sniff of trouble on 'MY' account... and I know where I am going to move too.

Upgrading scripts, working around the clock and taking care of my online business for me. There are few persons in this world whom I respect and appreciate so much but still have never met, as the guys at Amerinoc Support. Without them, I don't think I would still be around.

Short answer? Yes.

I've been with them for quite a while and never had a major issue or a minor one that we couldn't solve. Chris Eastman is top notch. HOWEVER, over the past 24hrs all of my sites across three seperate servers are running really slow or not at all.

I've called and emailed but have yet to get any response. C'mon AmeriNOC, it's tough enough out here lately without servers fucking up and no response from support.

I've been with them for years and haven't noticed any change in service. Just last month I had to move to another server and they did it flawlessly and quickly. I hardly noticed a difference

I'm in a holding pattern at the moment. I did eventually get support on the issue. It seems it could be a Comcast router problem in my area somewhere. If that is in fact the case then oops...sorry. Chris is on it and I have no doubt it'll get resolved one way or the other. Can't get any work done so...guess I'll go golfing.

Just to clarify, I'm not here to bash, don't have time for that.
Up till recent month they have been top notch, I will see if this gets resolved or not.

I was actually considering upgrading to VPS, which they offer now. Anyone using their new VPS plans?

Nothing has changed here. Most of the small issues you see posted have been dealt with in a very timely matter and usually deal with a virtual server going down. YES virtual servers do go down, It is part of the risk of virtual hosting , you notice how allot of adult hosts don't offer it? Its not easy. WE have no control over the newbie who woke up this morning with the dream of being internet king and get a free script full of memory leaks and buys a million hits of chinese traffic and takes the server down, YES this does happen from time to time. BUT the way its handled is what matters and what some don't give any credit for, we always fix these issues very quickly. We have full staff on 24 hours per day to handle these things and they do fine job of that. That said we will continue to offer virtual hosting as we have thousands of happy customers enjoying our top of the line customer service on a daily basis.

WE do now offer VPS hosting if you would like to be removed out of the shared hosting environment. Any one reading this , I'm willing to give you a free upgrade today

We also still continue to provide ROCK solid dedicated hosting thousands of happy websites.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Hello Moose,

I understand how it works. It's people with heavy traffic or MySQL queries 2 pages long who slow down others. What I didn't know is there is no automatic protection against such abusers. I suppose you can limit CPU / RAM only on VPS, it's not possible in shared environment.

Secondly, I never stated support replies are late. For critical tickets, first reply comes within few minutes. Just like I said, up till recent few days everything was top notch. If this is more or less an isolated accident we can get over this easily.

Regarding your upgrade offer, where can I contact you?

AMEN to that!

No matter what time it is, support is there and in a very timely and professional manner they handle whatever issue appears. Both proud and glad to be an Amerinoc customer, and has never once had any reason to complain or not to be happy. This is a world class service and all the staff at Amerinoc do a fine job at delivering over and over again!

Thank you guys for being there, without you and all your help, I would be gone, long ago.

Two big thumbs up for the folks at Phatservers/Amerinoc. Never had a problem that wasn't fixed quickly. Even one time when I screwed everything up. They put it back together. Great service.

As Moose said, virtual ( mainly adult ) is very hard to keep in balance. I use to offer it but stopped taking new clients because of that ...
Moose is referring to a chinese avalanche of hits .. I found it ironic as I terminated an account last fall because of that and I know he moved to ... Amerinoc .. I felt bad for them ...

On the other hand, if you offer it , service should be provided as for all clients. I know of other host that do not offer live/phone support for virtual, only tickets that get resolved only if the client post on this message board ...

I had a legal tube running there for about 9 months. Got an email saying the script was slowing down the servers and had to remove it. They gave me 15 seconds notice. Was pushing 5-8 sales a day off that tube, no bandwidth being used, all sponsor. Google crawled it at that time and i lost 30k a day of google target within 3 days. I complained, got no where. Got mad when i cancelled. I charged back the card when they billed me for an advance month. IMO they suck. 15 seconds notice? Really? They can suck a fucking cock all I care. Hope they fold up to be honest. Was nice beer money I lost.

You should have upgraded dude. I wouldn't put a 30k per day site on a virtual account, especially if it was doing 5-8 sales per day. Way too risky.

agreed. why not offer the upgrade instead of cutting the script with ZERO warning? I would have upgraded to dedi based on the numbers. again, FUCK phatservers...selling with thier bro sellers otherwise, would be done.

Same here.

I got kicked off just like that also but was only getting 1k a day hits.

They blamed my tube script for the problems.

They said the server was going crazy with SQl request, but my tube script does not
even use SQL or any database for that matter.

My sites ran fine on every other hosting company I used.

I ran five tube sites on my other shared server and never went down or had a complaint.

I don't understand why - even if you're only getting one or two sales per day - you wouldn't just get a dedicated server. One sale per day equals at least $500-$600 per month, give or take. Shell out the $150.

I have both dedicated and shared accounts at Phat/Amerinoc and I could not possibly complain about the service I've received from them.

Yes I'm aware that if you want to grow you should leave shared environment.

But using a dedicated for few simple sites (not selling sponsors) with 20gb monthly traffic is a total overdo. That's why I have chosen VPS, I can upgrade anytime.

My mistake, then. I thought you were originally talking about a shared server and not VPS.

I have used them for 3 days and quit.
I'm addicted to cPanel and I can't stand using anything else (like DirectAdmin, Plesk and other shitty panels).

man, cpanel sucks compared to directadmin, don't know what you're talking about.

just how cpanel does a domain and then "add-on" domains is completely retarded.

I've been with Amerinoc / Phatservers for like 7 years now and would not move to another host if you payed me! I've never had a virtual account but I've used their shared and dedicated services and I get the same fast support on my shared server as I do with my dedicated server.

So he ran the script for 9 months before the memory leaks mattered?

DirectAdmin is a shitty "panel"? WTF? Huzzah? Chortle!!! Guffaw!!! I have shared accounts with Cpanel and I dread using them. DirectAdmin is the ultimate in elegance compared to Cpanel.

Oh, I see ... but all those are shared ( Virtual & Shared ) or virtual : same thing, as there is no fix allocation of ressources as like on a VPS.... just a way for them of saying : we are putting 7-8 big virtual account on one server to compare to 100 of small accounts on one server ...

well what I am saying is Virtual starts at $10 per month where Shared starts at $75 and is up to 8 users per server which i'm sure is a lot less users than on virtual

http://webhosting.phatservers.net/shared.html

I currently have shared for some of my smaller affiliate TGPs and dedicated for my program

To put it correctly, I was using Virtual hosting (basic plan). Yeah, you may say "dummie" but up till now I didn't need more.

Good point, SBJ. I just saw "8 Users Per Server" on shared hosting page. They should definitely highlight that so people don't sign up under Virtual.
