Many leftists in 1950s and 1960s refused to believe that USSR was a huge concentration camp. Communists in Italy, France and UK openly supported USSR even though they should understand they would end like all comrades in communist parties in eastern bloc existing before soviet invasion - shot in the back of the head.

The interview shown was shot in the early 80's, when Ronald Reagan was the President, and when the Soviet Union still existed.

Yuri Bezmenov (aka Tomas Schuman), was a member of the lunatic fringe John Birch Society. He reportedly died in 1997.

Latter day tea-party kooks have resurrected this video in a lame attempt to use it to attack President Obama and others whom understand that the Cold War ended a long time ago (and instead of fretting about the KGB, are instead busy trying to deal with real challenges facing us today).

How ironic that a video about brainwashing and propaganda is laced with images dropped in, as if the speakers words could not stand on their own. Joseph Goebbels couldn't have done better.

You could just as easily have dropped in pictures depicting the domestic spying under the Bush administration, Abu Ghraib prison pictures, the CIA rendition program, Blackwater mercenaries, etc, and they would have fit just as well (perhaps better).

This country has more to fear from right-wing nutjobs, than leftwing extremists...
