My Marine Tank

Well not sure if anyone here is even interested by this sort of thing but below is a video of my marine tank that I finished setting up 2 nights ago.

Just shows some of the fish on show as well as a random little starfish I didn't know was in the tank!

Why would you put those types of fish in there when your water quality parameters aren't stable yet? Only setup for 30 hours, surely it isn't cycled, even with those "enzymes in a bag".

Not much choice in the matter to be honest, it was a full system setup move. Tank, fish, water, equipment.

So there shouldn't be a huge problem and I've been keeping an eye on the various water parameters with tester kits etc to make sure its still all ok, and so far so good.

Your guess is as good as mine, the bloke I got the whole thing from said he hadn't added any fish within the last 8 months so at least 8 months.

Embedding clips can be confusing Gary. I'll help.

You have to look at the letters and numbers at the end of the URL you want to link to.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=GJWV6R9fiLg

The bit you want is: GJWV6R9fiLg

And you just put

[ youtube ] GJWV6R9fiL [ /youtube ]

without the spaces. Like this:

Hope that helps.

Damian

Yes i am interested. We've been out looking at different tanks and fish since we moved house a few weeks ago. Looking to get started with a new aquarium very soon.

I actually made a thread on here a while ago asking what people had. Quite a few had some nice fish if i remember correctly!!

You are going to want to setup the rocks in a way that there are places for the tangs to hide under something, like make some big caves, get all the rocks except for a couple "base" rocks up off the sand or else you will have a serious nitrate problem as the tank ages.

You need to have lots of what on hand and do weekly 30 to 50% water changes if you want a chance to keep them alive during the cycle. Poor bastards are gonna be suffering hard, a tank move and a cycle...

here's some of mine:
