Update on RCN cutomers moving to ISPRIME

Guys here is an update

RCN provided ISPRIME with login information to their backup system for the purpose of setting up clients that are wishing to move to ISPRIME.
RCN is still in possession of the back up servers.

If you signed up with ISPRIME, please understand that it is taking a long time because RCN’s backup is pegged down because their backups are BOTH encrypted and compressed, and from all the people trying to retrieve their data off of it. This has created a bottleneck and it’s a major factor that is limiting us at this point. We can only recover data as fast as RCN’s back-up system is allowing us.

ISPRIME is NOT accepting ANY file-sharing or warez sites! If you own one please don’t bother contacting us. We can NOT and will NOT help you.

We are working as fast as possible for the past 72 hours to bring up customers online who signed up with us. Please understand the situation here: we have over 100 RCN customers who ALL want to go up at once. Our biggest challenge is to get the data off RCN’s backup system. However, we are getting it as fast as the system allows us to.

If you wish to move to another host besides ISPRIME, you may do so by contacting RCN and getting a copy of your backup. ISPRIME DOES NOT physically have your data, ALL we have are LOGINS to their backup system for customers moving over to ISPrime.

Please understand that when RCN came to us and asked for HELP, we opened our doors for their clients and have been forced to work around the clock -- doing our absolute best to try and bring up as many customers as we can, as fast as we can. We understand the urgency and importance of ALL people affected by this disaster and are lending our resources to help as much as we can possibly can.
If you’ve signed up with us and your sites still have not come online, please be patient; we are doing everything we can to get the data off RCN’s backup. We are limited by the speed of their backup system, and are doing everything we can to speed up the setup process -- in any way possible.

ISPRIME is NOT associated with RCN in any way. RCN did have some servers collocated with ISPRIME, which is a very small percentage of their operation.
There have been a lot of people commenting negatively on ISPRIME and blaming us for slow recovery. The fact is when we learned of what happened to RCN, we were the first ones to land a helping hand and open up our doors and resources to those of you who have lost your entire business. A lot of people here are saying what they would have done, but the fact is ISPRIME has been doing everything it can to help save as many businesses as it can. This is not a publicity stunt or a way for us to make quick buck here. This is giving back to the community and to those in need. We have been doing just that.

We are not going to be monitoring this or any other message boards to answer questions. We are busy doing what we’ve set out to do -- and that is bring up as many customers as we can.

Those of you who decided to migrate to us, we ask you to be patient, and let us complete our work. We are doing absolutely EVERYTHING we can to bring you up as quickly as RCN’s backup system is allowing us to.

Reading between the lines here, RCN had worse than an inadequate backup system.

Seems to be alot of distance being put between ISPRIME and RCN now.

We, as are most hosts here, are willing to help. The RCN clients that are still down need to make tough decisions and search out the best solutions for their hosting needs, but to do that, they need to either have their own backups, be able to get them from RCN or concede the data loss and switch DNS ASAP to start capturing the traffic back and rebuild their sites.

My experience with ISPrime over the years has been nothing but great and they didn't ask for this to be thrown at them, but they are in a better position to help based on the relationship that already existed and are offering to help. Most hosts don't have 1000 servers sitting around open and if they did, it's still a Rat's nest to sort out with the backups. Either take them up on it, move elsewhere or wait it out.

Complaining about them, their pricing or your place in line isn't going to change what happened now.

I can only imagine the gut wrenching process you are all going through right now. Best of luck to all involved.

isprime knows what they are doing, and i'm sure they are doing all they can with their resources to help all those out. as big as they are, they are probably stretched to their limit and doing what they can. have faith in them

Getting tired of the "ISPrime is in this to HELP" bullshit.

Taking our money by promising to get us online quickly is NOT helping us out when you do not actually get us up.

You promised to put do your best and get those that paid you money up a soon as possible. You took on 100+ clients, and those that signed up before the rush are not being looked after.

I call that taking in as much money as you can right away, from desperate people, and worrying about us actually getting online later.

I am sure many would "open" their doors to 100+ accounts as well. Actually getting them online in a timely matter as promised is another matter.

Also, blaming it on a bottleneck with backups is more bullshit. We have had our data two days ago and we still cannot get you guys to make simple DNS entries and get us online.

Stop saying you are doing this to help. You are not. This is business. Just get the fucking job done.

No, RCN. I have a virtual hosting account @ web2.vh.realitychecknetwork.com. Probably a DNS problem? NS1.REALITYCHECKNETWORK.COM/NS2 can't be reached

In your eyes is a mailer and a spammer the same thing ? If no why do you group them together in this post when you address your customer?

I had server with RCN during the crisis. ISprime got my site up quickly. I may have been one of the first to contact them but was still impressed with the support.

Due,

We don't allow mailing from our network. It's as simple as that. He is not our customer and will NOT be our customer. We decide whether to take on a customer or not. From What I've seen he is looking for servers to setup his mailing empire.

Look at the end of the day we are here to protect our legit customers and are not looking for a quick way to make money. Just like some people allow warez sites or trackers to be hosted on their network and we don't.

He was/is RCN's customer and if he wishes do go else where he can do so. But he isn't moving to our network.

We have been in business for over 10 years and since day one we maintained a clean and transparent policy. I suppose that is why we host the most respectable names in the industry. We stand 100% behind our product.

Just got to say that I have tried contacting both ISPrime and RCN and have yet to receive my data or any ETA on when I would be receiving my backups from either company.

ISPrime had me on hold the whole time why they tried reaching out to RCN.
They eventually told me to call back tomorrow as rcn was "UNREACHABLE"

You are looking at a post from 2004 and making judgement... really?

Everything I said was honest in my post... for you to come and reply with I should stay at RCN was 100% wrong.

My point was I have my data. I could of went to another host. I signed up with you because of your promise to get me up. Instead I get support that replys in days, not hours or minutes as you claimed.

Fuck you.

ISPrime is cherry-picking the clients who they restore first.

A few days ago i had been told that my servers started being worked on.

And today i learn that it was bullshit and that they started just now. So they have prio customers who they restore first.

We fucked up with people? By doing what dedicating 100% of our time on working around the clock trying to help out as many people as we can? XSV is right we did not ask for it. RCN came to us for help and we have been doing just that. HELPING to restore clients. If you are not happy with our progress GO somewhere else, I don't respect people who ask you for help and then spit in your face while you're helping them up.

We promised to get everyone up who came to us, and we are intending on keeping that promise. Everyone who came to us and decided to go with us have been going up in the past 48 hours and are going up as we speak. Obviously it's a daunting process and we are doing what we can.

What would be the difference? You would still be profiting from a purported mailer/spammer, nevermind the 100 or so questionable torrent sites you're profiting on, since you lease/resell space to RCN.

Might I suggest having someone else do your PR and putting you back in the server room, since you obviously can't handle PR professionally.

Captain, I stick to my post which I will re-iterate below. Fact is you promised something to early customers and did not follow through.

You call getting me online HELP? I call it business. I pay you, you get servers up. That is not help, it is fucking BUSINESS. I could of went with any other host and been up already, instead I took your promise, and that promise was worth shit.

Get someone else to handle your PR man - you suck. You should of simply apologized, said we are going to get the fucking job done, and be done with it. Instead you started a pissing contest.

My earlier post, 100% FACT

Getting tired of the "ISPrime is in this to HELP" bullshit.

Taking our money by promising to get us online quickly is NOT helping us out when you do not actually get us up.

You promised to put do your best and get those that paid you money up a soon as possible. You took on 100+ clients, and those that signed up before the rush are not being looked after.

I call that taking in as much money as you can right away, from desperate people, and worrying about us actually getting online later.

I am sure many would "open" their doors to 100+ accounts as well. Actually getting them online in a timely matter as promised is another matter.

Also, blaming it on a bottleneck with backups is more bullshit. We have had our data two days ago and we still cannot get you guys to make simple DNS entries and get us online.

Stop saying you are doing this to help. You are not. This is business. Just get the fucking job done.

Muff, You know in the past 10 years we have been approached by the biggest spammers in the industry asking us to help them out in return for HUGE amount of money. We have been turning AWAY every single one since day one and will continue to do so. I think anyone who has been around long enough knows what happened to the companies such as Alpha Red who decided to take on business like that.

As far me being in the server room; 1. I am not a tech so there is nothing I can physically do to help; I have been and still is working with clients on icq and email while working closely with our tech staff.

My post was a rant. You guys bit more than you could chew, and as a result we are suffering.
