Jason Garrett is taking the spot on an "intermin basis", whatever that is. It's about damn time, he should've been gone after last seaon.

Thank God!! This is the "adjustment" Jerry Jones was talking about. I kinda had a feeling he was referring to Wade Phillips.

Probably until next season. I can't really see any coach wanting to step into the Dallas mess in an unrecoverable season.
I also don't even think the players will step up and actually play play even with Phillips gone. They've given up and look like a highschool team.

Next best thing that could happen for them is the death of Jerry.

As an Eagles fan, I LOVE seeing the Cowboys in major disarray. I gives me wood.

Either Vikes or Broncos coaches...Broncos are watching the one-cellar-dweller Chiefs and Raiders largely improved, and Chargers are Chargers as usual, 2nd half team in the making again this season. Broncos started last season 6-0 and have been shitty since. Vikes coach may survive if they ride this last win to at least .500, but Denver is just not looking good in a now competitive division. That's my take anyways.

This is a job for Chucky (John Gruden). Even though I love him on Monday nights but Dallas needs a no bullshit kinda guy.

Chucky's the shit. He has that whole "jolly" way about him on MNF (I remember for a while, having games on in the bg not looking at them, I was wondering who tf that was and would have never guessed Chucky), but you just know as coach of a team he fuckin' lays it in and whips players into shape. That IS exactly what they need...they've had it easy for too long.

Biggest coaching mistake the Raiders ever made (and they have made a bunch of them), was letting Gruden get away...

that's what i'm thinking too, + he's in play right now, teams know he's ready to come back.
i like gruden a lot too, but i think he's in broadcasting for a while longer. either of these guys would require a no jj clause though. |

Owner has already said the job is his until the end of the season, and even then I don't see him getting fired just moved back into his old job and someone else taking over as head coach

I had this coach in Pop Warner. He reminds me of chucky. The guy would blow a gasket all time. Dude would foam out the mouth lol. We won a lot that season though because he was a complete animal.

we had Wade in Buffalo, he's just not head coaching material personality wise, he's an excellent defensive coordinator. that's the Cowboys problem, Jerry hired Wade and kept him as long as possible because he wants a puppet head coach so he can pull some of the strings. Phillips didn't even get to hire his own staff. None of the elite coaches will take that job unless Jerry contractually gives them almost complete control - which is unlikely. Cowher wouldn't take it i'm sure. Gruden might not be able to turn down the chance to coach what used to be America's team.

Jerry Jones said that about his coach last week. That said, I do not see them changing before the off-season either. I'm not sure that Singletary is the problem. It may be some of the players. Perhaps a mass overhaul is needed. Coaches and players.

and the truth about the Cowboys is that Tony Romo isn't an elite quarterback and never will be. at least 10 better than him and you don't win Super Bowls in today's NFL without an elite QB. Jason Garrett will flop.
Cowboys would be smart to tank the rest of the season to compete with Buffalo and Carolina to get Andrew Luck.
