You'll break it or lose it or get bored of it.

Make sure to buy lots of extra propellers, propeller guards, batteries & chargers with it.

If you're going to seriously use it a lot be prepared to replace it at least two times.

Bought a first generation drone. Amused myself with it a few days. Novelty wore off rather quick.

Don't own one myself but a friend bought a pretty nice one about a year ago. He played around with it for about a month and even talked about maybe starting a business where he could do overhead video for people. Then he crashed it and never bothered to repair it.

My advice, via him, would be to buy a cheap one and mess around with it a little to see if you like it before spending a lot on a good one.

Sound advice. Buy a cheapie and learn to fly it first before investing in a hi-quality one.

Those DJi Phantoms are rather pricey to wind up as mere toys.

Yeah might go with the cheaper option first. Was gonna buy the best i could get my hands on but like the comments have said, i'll either get bored quick or break it. Or both...

I have a few, i like to fly them over to my neigbours property and piss him off. Have to be a little careful as everyone owns guns around here. I have the DJI Inspire 2 which is an amazing drone and an original DJI Phantom 4 that must be about 5 years old now and still fly well despite having a few hairy landings

I fought the urge for a couple of years buying a DJI. Kept telling myself I'd buy it and never use it. Picked up a couple of promarks so cheap I should have been wearing a mask.. One has never left the box. The other I flew for less than a battery drain and never took it out again.. Glad I fought the urge of buying a high-end one.

Take the time to learn to fly it. I lost two expensive ones before I learned. Don't do that

Learning to fly your drone is the easy part because you paid for it you want to learn how to use it you're going to be careful with it. You respect & value it.

What's difficult is when you have your assistant with you, or a model, or friends and you're flying the drone and they want to try it out.

It's easy to want to be the nice guy and let them try, and that's one of the biggest mistakes you don't want to make, and it's easy to do. That's how my first drone broke

I got myself a dji mavic air fly more combo two months ago, and I love it. Its safe to fly because it can avoid tree's and other obstacles.

It started with a friend getting me one of the cheap china-drones. It broke after 4 mins, but it got me thirsty for more.

I use it often in the building process (building a new house and garage) and I bring it with me when we travle to get short videos of us hiking. Folds neatly into the small bag.

Do you have the video goggles so you can see your flight live as it happens? Those things are a trip; it's as if you're a bird flying real time 👍

I had the Mavic Pro for 2 years. I sold it and saving for a Mavic Pro 2. That’s what you need man.

So much you can do with it.

Don’t settle for lower cost

we´re considering one, not sure what one to get as we only want it for aerial shots by the pool, on the roof solarium, maybe walking naked on the beach or through the woods...

either way, really a cheap one will do us as long as it´s hd and can be flown by phone

How much do you want to spend ?
What is the target purpose ? or How much payload do you need to carry how far and still return ?

I thought about getting an eachine wizard a while back but chose not to. I bought one of the cheap $20 ones to fuck around with instead. I got bored with it quickly.
