Finally..............It's CORN SEASON !!!!
 

The local corn is starting to come into its own, they started selling it at the farmers market yesterday:thumbsup Had the peaches and cream last night which is my favorite.

It was ok,a tad bland for my taste, still needs a week or so of maturing, before it's full flavour. Got some from a different farmer tonight, about to put the pot on to boil:thumbsup

well eating corn is sorta new to me since i protested it for years until recently.

but peaches and cream corn isnt something ive ever heard of...

what else is there? pumpkin pie corn?

For edible corn around here, they usually have the Super Sweet, which is all yellow, as the name implies, it is really sweet, dont care for it. The other is the peaches and cream. I will search , high and low , see if they have "pumpkin pie":upsidedow

Dont be going and looking for any kind of food when youre high... you come back with too much!

Yeah the corn in Chilliwack, BC is great. I look forward to the summers, its on the side of the road everywhere, peaches n cream too. But since I discovered the packaged corn in the stores that sells all year around and is pretty much equally good, i dont get quite as excited.

Yeah as do I, if I pass one, i still can't help but stop. I just meant i dont get quite as excited now. How much are they when you stop at a stand? Roughly? I can't remember what they are here

its early in the season, so its 6 bucks a dozen right now, but prices will come down in a couple of weeks:thumbsup

I like white corn the best myself. Not sure if it's an actual strain or if it's just early, but I think it's much better than yellow.

i havent grown corn in a while. it sure does taste better with a good butter and a grilled steak or ribs

Yeah, so more reason to get them from the stands, the ones I get that are good all season cost 5-6 bucks for 4..

A friend of mine's dog used to eat them too. Then he swallowed whole a quarter kernal. Didn't shit right for 2 weeks. Thought he was going to die. Then he sounded like a bitch giving birth and bamb, we was suddenly ready to do it all over again.

my garden did great this year except for the corn. i planted it too deep and it didn't grow. started buying at roadside places, and some of it's been amazing!

I tried several times over the years, never ever got the quality of the ones I can buy. Tonight is round 3 of corn, just got some really, really freshly picked ones , they just came in from the fields with them:thumbsup

i'm gonna get some soon. though i like to soak the corn for an hour or so in water and then cook it on the bbq.

I tried every which way, didnt work , so I just go for the sure great taste of the place I get it from:thumbsup
