Hot dog cart. Well with $50k you could get a few nice carts.. You could corner the market in your city. I can see you as the Trump of the hot dog world.

It's always great to jump into some business you know or care nothing about. I'm sure whatever it turns out to be, it'll be a successful endeavor.

American Psycho 09-03-2012 11:43 AM

ive started 3 business from the ground up that i knew nothing about before starting and they are doing well. i learned and got better in time by doing them. it is tru i didnt make a penny for a few years of each.

Go find a pay day lender that needs more cash for loans.

shake 09-03-2012 11:52 AM

50k is a small amount but successful businesses have been started on a lot less... just don't expect to get something that you can put on autopilot - you'll still be working hard to make anything successful.

Right, but he doesn't go out and say "I have $10 million, what should I spend it on?" He finds something that he wants to do, usually based on potential or returns, then he goes out and finds the money.

I think you are going about this completely backwards. Find something that you want to do because it either interests you or you see opportunity, then find a way to make the extra money that you need. Prefacing the deal that it must be turnkey/autopilot is most likely going to get you a whole lot of scams. Money for nothing just doesn't exist, anyone that tells you otherwise is trying to take advantage of your get rich quick excitement.

Good luck.

I've actually done this about 20 years ago when I was like 17, broke as fuck, and living on my own.
Never made a fucking dime..
I think the guys running it though were killing it.

TheLegacy 09-03-2012 12:13 PM

well you could try online an advertising firm or traffic company. Create a ton of blogs and social networks then resell the traffic. Also work on webmaster lists then leverage it to affiliate programs who'll pay to contact them.

Outside of that - 50k really won't take you very far these days - in the mainstream world you'd be better off joining up in shares of a company giving advice than anything. The same rules apply regarding traffic and exposure but you won't need a physical location so this would all be man hours.

What Brass Monkey said! We have the these 9 carpet cleaning EMD domains left, all .com and regd in 2006 and up for sale. Easy way to basically own a niche in one of the below cites and be in business this week. With pretty much zero SEO and a basic site, a page 1 rank is pretty much expected.

Actually I'm winding down by career as a NYC taxi driver and will be investing about $50,000 in a webcam studio. Of course, that'll be in a third-world country, so $50k goes a lot further there.

Sunny Day 09-03-2012 02:52 PM

$50k

Occasionally, here you can get a foreclosed house for $20K put in another $10-20 and still walk away with $10-30K on a few months investment.

Give me an email, and I'll send you some examples.

Nothing particular , Just getting ideas from others about possible good areas to get into.
Wrapping up a venture (going ok and a good building block) and now looking to get into something else.

50k would be a starting investment and of course any business requires ongoing work and reinvestment of earnings and possible new capital.

Understood. Add your email here or send me an email if you don`t want to list your address on this forum ([email protected]) and I`ll send you something that you might find useful (a fraction of the investment that you mentioned and nothing to do with porn). :)
