SBJ 07-19-2009 04:33 PM

central air is your best friend on days like this! :thumbsup

Mutt 07-19-2009 04:34 PM

can regular air conditioning even get a house down into the 70's when it's 118 outside? or do you need some super duper air conditioning system that is different from regular ones?

and what about pool temperature? a month of plus 100 degrees and wouldn't the pool water be like 90?

corvette 07-19-2009 04:36 PM

mutt, let me say this, i was out of town for a few days, decided to turn my ac off, and got back the house was 95 and its gotten as low as 90 but thats it for the past 3 hours...will have to wait til night until it gets to the 70s

B O B 07-19-2009 04:40 PM

30c in Manuel Antonio today

perfecto!

Kevin Marx 07-19-2009 04:43 PM

Oh Steve, don't overexagerate... my car said it was only 115... geeze.. 118.. LOL

Mutt, my pool is in the upper 90s right now.. it's bathwater later in the day basically. In the mornings its reasonable.

lol that's like asking someone from Indiana if their heater can keep them warm when it's negative 10 with wind chill. Yes a normal central air can keep your house in the 70s even when it's 118 but it will run a lot.

pool temperature? well that is another story cause i never swam in my pools when it was above 100 during the day. I would go for a dip after midnight when the air at least cooled down a bit but yeah the pool water feels like bath water still.

if all the people went home who weren't born in Arizona it would be tumbleweeds and a two lane highway - which is what it was in the 1950's before air conditioning became commonplace.

brassmonkey 07-19-2009 05:10 PM

im going hire a indian over at gila river reservation have them do a rain dance who want's to pitch in? :1orglaugh:helpme

Rochard 07-19-2009 05:12 PM

This is why I jumped when I got the chance to move out of Phoenix. I loved working for Steve and the people there, but the head was bullshit. Luckily Steve has a killer pool to keep him cool.

SunDevilangels 07-19-2009 05:35 PM

I remember the day it was 122, I was up on a roof working, yeah i was 15 or 16 so it was just another day...lol But 118 is cool compared to Gila Bend and those 120 plus days... lol

Hey.. The summer heat makes the girl's clothes come off !! Hee hee :)

Porn Grounds 07-19-2009 05:47 PM

ahhh I remember those days! I loved them. Can't wait to move back.

I loved AZ! Lived in Scottsdale for almost 4 years.

JFK 07-19-2009 05:55 PM

Steve's pool rocks, specially when he does belly flops:winkwink:

fatfoo 07-19-2009 09:45 PM

Very hot temperature. Those dogs must be sweating heavily.

And it was a lot better then... too many people here and too much development now.

Spunky 07-19-2009 09:49 PM

Damn,I don't think I'd last too long in that type of heat.

I would say maybe a couple of areas, but not a "hell alot". Paradise Valley for sure... maybe Carefree. But, back in 2000 Paradise Valley was the #1 community in terms of wealth, and Scottsdale #2. Things haven't changed that much.

They don't have that Scottsdale attitude though :winkwink:

damn, nice pic.

Just be glad your humidity isn't 93% like it is here.

SleazyDream 07-19-2009 11:52 PM

u need air conditioners in the summer like we need heaters in the winter - matter of survival.

i'd melt. it's been about 70-80 all month here

tranza 07-20-2009 04:37 AM

Your right. I would says in terms of wealth, Paradise Valley, Carefree, Goldfield, Gold Canyon, and Fountain Hills, are ahead of Scottsdale. I dont really consider Scottsdale all that nice until you get north of Shea Blvd.

I don't know, it was reading 117 on the patio in the shade at out place. And I had the fun of replacing our pool pump in that horrific heat. Of course my wife and her girlfriend were doing a little topless sunbathing action, so it made it bearable, except for the sweat in my eyes.......:1orglaugh

I keep the aerator going so our pool stays pretty cool, even during this heat :winkwink:

BradM 07-20-2009 09:22 AM

We're going to head out there this weekend.... check out a Dbacks game and some property. Should be a hot trip. :)

Steve it was great to have you, Shannon and Corvette in town. Maybe you should consider a summer house up here and be a snow bird.

I run my aerator quite often as well. Only problem with the continual use is that ph levels get out of whack really quick particularly if your TA is not in check . A couple gallons of acid on hand is a must.

Tom_PM 07-20-2009 09:32 AM

79F degrees, 40% humidity here right now. I complain my ass off in winter about the snow (149.6 inches this past season! Dayum), and about the bitter cold.. But you know what they say.. in the cold, you can almost always put on another layer.. but when it's hot, you can only get naked down to your skin!

Stay cool!

Honez 07-20-2009 09:34 AM

In the 80's here :)
