Obama supporters

Just wondering, any regrets?

cardinalvices 05-25-2010 01:28 PM

the man is dealing with the shittiest time in the economy. He can't just snap his fingers and grant everyone a Ferrari.

Deej 05-25-2010 01:31 PM

you know ... funny subject...

my former roommate came by a couple days ago and hes always saying fuck obama this and fuck obama that. Mostly due to the tax increases coming and he has kids and works and blah blah.

He goes on and on. Then starts talking about the rise that he can see not only in the economy and jobs but just in general.

Before that was over I got him to admit it was Obama...

Sure we hit a slump... but its coming back up... how do you explain that?

And if not... what spawned the idea for you to reference obama and the times?

For the record, I dont support nor deny support to obama...

brassmonkey 05-25-2010 01:33 PM

yes nobody is perfect atleast he's not trying to kill everyone living in the middle east

SuzzyQ 05-25-2010 01:36 PM

A month after Katrina, everyone was all over Bush for his slow response. Here we are a month after what will be the worst environmental disaster in history and everyone is giving Obama a pass on this.

Just an observation.

smutnut 05-25-2010 01:36 PM

I think it's awesome we finally got A BLACK PRESIDENT!

Now, lets shut the fuck up and elect someone who can actually do something about life!

I feel sorry for anyone that thinks the president of america actually makes a difference.

This man tells you who controls the congress, of course fox doesn't like that very much.

When given the choices we had? Absolutely not. Anyone that thinks that McCain and Palin would have done better is fooling themselves. Granted... they may not have passed the healthcare bill... but none of that money has been spent yet anyway. However, I have yet to see the change or action on the tough talk he had during the campaign... What happened with ending corporate tax havens? What happened with real financial reform? What happened with the public option or even coops? The truth is that it's obvious that both parties are slaves to corporate interests and I don't see that changing any time soon.

We know how to respond to a hurricane. We've done it many times.
Plugging that hole on the bottom of the ocean is kind of new ground.

Also an observation.

True that

That would be a stupid observation on many fronts.

BFT3K 05-25-2010 01:46 PM

At some point we may finally get a leader who gives it to us straight, otherwise this country will be going tits-up very soon - kinda like Greece...

1) Taxes need to go up across the board.

2) The retirement age needs to increase.

3) Inflation can't be stopped forever.

4) Government salaries need to be lowered.

5) The government can no longer lend fake money to banks at 0%.

6) Government and personal debt must be reduced.

7) Budgets need to be balanced.

8) Reliance on fossil fuels MUST be reduced, even if it is painful.

We can't keep going on like this. Over 40% of our federal budget is based upon borrowed money. Our food is too cheap. Our goods in general are too cheap. We can't just keep buying crap from China, just because it is cheap. We can't throw everything away all the fucking time.

Difficult choices are needed, or we will be fucked!

I can go on with many examples, but most of you will think I am a crazy radical - if you don't already think that now.

If an "Obama supporter" can be defined as someone who doesnt hate Obama. . then I guess I'm a supporter, although I really resist being classified like this.

As a non-hater of Obama then, I would say I dont regret that he's president at all. The alternative was absolutely frightening to me honestly.

What the fuck could Obama do about the oil spill? He doesn't run an oil company and never has (unlike Bush). :1orglaugh

I regret that so many people are actually praying for him to fail and started
announcing his "failure" within weeks of him taking office when I'm still waiting
for a significant time to actually pass so I can form a reasonable judgment.

I regret being bombarded with so many inaccuracies/ludicrous claims(ex. Birth Cert.)
that if a true fact that he sucked actually came out that I couldn't recognize it among
all the false panic.

The guy is going to get my vote no matter what at this point, because none of his
criticism can be trusted anymore.

Get your band of fools to shut up, and let your intelligent people make a point
and them maybe I can hear it.

kristin 05-25-2010 02:08 PM

He was handed a pile of shit from the Bush administration.

I don't think anyone could magically have things back to normal in the amount of time he has been in office.

For the time he has served thus far, I would have to say I'd take this over the Bush day's anytime. At least we see hope now, I couldn't say that before with Bush as our leader.

michael.kickass 05-25-2010 02:09 PM

There was really no choice in the election so it's pointless to have regrets. :2 cents:

Katrina can't be blamed on the stupidity and blatant disregard for safety of an oil company.

And they are getting involved, they gave BP their shot. I hope whatever costs the gov't incurs from having to swoop in and fix it goes on BP's dime.
