:( good bye G-force
awww that little llama :(
People still used Winamp? I remember using that in 1999 or 2000
Free version was too good maybe, or just AOL mismangement?
Why? If i owned winamp I would not close down, I would try to monetize.. Last resort - selling it.
I used to use Winamp a long, long time ago. Didn't know it was still around.

After 15 years of llama-whipping, AOL shuts down Winamp for good Former Winamp employees blame - AOL mismanagement that began over a decade ago. http://arstechnica.com/business/2013...namp-for-good/ |
That sucks. It kicked the LLama's ass....

I remember that my computer running at 133MHz couldn't even play music in Winamp back at the days... It was ages ago... Too bad they're shutting it down...

wow...I've been rocking the web for almost 20 years, and winamp has been there though most of them. It's a piece you don't want to see go.
I've been using it since it pretty much came out... it's a solid piece of software... why would they shut it down?
so what's a good replacement anyway? is there really anything better with the same number of plugins, visualizations, etc? |
Yep, I still use Winamp for my playlists and Shoutcast for radio. iTunes is just too frustrating.
Still use winamp too. Got it setup just the way I like it. Does everything I need.
Bummer |
so , thats the official explanation? now gives us the truth? any conspiracy theories flowing around about this shutdown ? must be more to it then just them being utter crap
Been using winamp since it;s early days. Started using a winamp clone called Audacious almost two years now.
http://audacious-media-player.org/ also runs on windows for you non linux heads for anyone thats intrested. |
There was a neat converting trick I used to use with Winamp, to convert FLAC files. You had to also use iTunes so it was clunky but 'old school' still works.
Sad to see Winamp go! |
They should sell it to ICQ!
that sucks, i still use it, hate itunes
doesn't surprise me, as aol is running it.
I still use the same version I had back in '99

Winamp was a good quality free product i.e. had to be stopped. Without making it too obvious they had to kill it off, slowly but surely making sure that it wasn't a success, allowing other Illuminati controlled players to take control of the market Windows Media Center to be a paid upgrade in Windows 8, eventually we will be left with no choice but to pay for a decent media player. The player will make tonne of money and will also report details of exactly what we watch and listen to. While I have just made that up off the top of my head, it's possible I've accidentally stumbled upon the truth :upsidedow They buy the competition and they kill it! :2 cents: Remember folks, you heard it first on GFY :winkwink: |
