I donated for Haiti.. did you?
Just sayin... :thumbsup
|
I sure did :)
|
No. The fact that some shithole country I didn't even know existed was in a state of disaster before being hit by an earthquake doesn't interest me in the slightest.
It's amazing, for 100's of years these people have suffered with 3rd world problems and now suddenly everyone gives a shit? Where the fuck was your kind support and hard earned cash before the disaster? I think it's disgusting anyway, 90% of that money goes in to the pocket of the people overlooking it. Charity starts at home - I'm a single guy who earns an income by working. Nothing I can do, say or donate is going to change the billions of people who still can't wake up and have a glass of clean drinking water. Fuck charity. |

Absolutely.

I'm a douche because I won't donate money to a fallacious cause to make myself feel better? Hmm, logic fail. |

You should sue your school district. :2 cents: |

Dude you should put a rope around your neck , tie it something high and jump. You're a failure and always will be. |
I support the US military, and they have my permission to:
1. fly in aid and distribute aid 2. overthrow corrupt and repressive governments anywhere on the planet that threaten their own people or other countries The corrupt and inept Haiti government allowed this natural disaster to turn into a catastrophe of human suffering. |
yes, donating a few bucks will help me feel better about ignoring the pain and suffering that goes on everyday throughout the world..
the hypocrisy in this world makes me laugh... :2 cents: |
No a don't plan to...
|
I didn't and I am not going to. I did get a new game for my xbox today and bought a wipe warmer so the baby doesn't ever have to feel cold wipes on his ass anymore.
Not living in a third world shithole is awesome. |
just sayin, yo!

Want to poke at me? I'm game. You know what is dumb? Using pictures of your dead mother's ashes as a place to advertise your company, how can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you're willing to stoop that low? It amazed me when I saw a watermark attached to your mother's passing away thread, totally beyond me, what were you thinking? Seriously? It doesn't take a bachelor of common sense to work out that it's probably not the wisest place to put a watermark. Quote:
I'm also sorry for voicing a logical devil's advocate to the heart warming feeling you get when you donate your cash. Obviously no one is willing to argue the point and would rather hide behind the classic defense of pointing at the charity-nay-sayer. Keep thinking it makes a difference, last time I checked poverty wasn't going anywhere and people love to donate to that. There's too much money in poverty. :2 cents: Quote:

Yes, I just made a donation online.
I urge everybody to do the same: http://www.redcross.org Thank you. |

And I've donated personally. :thumbsup |
not me, i'd prefer to let the invisible guiding hand of the free market sort this out

For the record, yah I donated a few bucks ... nothing much, and no it doesn't make me feel better about what happened. I just hope that if I donated, and a few other people did, perhaps it'll help one of the kids who's been hospitalised and needs some meds. I am 100% sure that people on here who spout all the shit that this douchebag has done wouldn't say that shit in public. |

To many big disasters in a short range of time, imo. Sorry if it sounds paranoid, but there is anyway to many problems that require suddenly an international action. Sorry to sound harsh, but it is not because something is spectacular that we have to send money to thank dead people for the show: yes, they had also third world problems before. |

i donated twice
once via yele when this first broke and then via red cross If there was a way I could fly over and help hands on I would I dont think some people realizethe magnitude of devastation can you imagine if 100.000 people all died at once in the US or UK or AU? very tragic day for humanity and humanity itself is what makes us human instead of animals. you need only look at a few post in this thread for proof of reverse evolution I just wonder whats next if there is a god and i dont think there is .... but if there is then this is surely a test of mankind |
Yeah I sent Wyclef a few bucks.
|
I donated to the Red Cross and to Doctors Without Borders. These are both pretty reputable organizations. I've been giving to Docs W/O Bs for a while now.

I have made a logical, coherent and truthful observation. I have backed up what I have said with pseudoevidence (I could find hundreds of news reports regarding the actual effect charity has on the cause) and have still yet to receive a reply. Do you know why? Because I'm right. I'm fucking right. And there's no one here with enough of the good stuff to even argue my points, so what do you all do? Resort to throwing figurative shit around the room and point fingers at the person who just committed the faux pas of boo-booing charity. Give me one good reason why people should be all up in arms about donating to the cause now when the country was in a state of utter shit before hand? It's so hypocritical it's not even funny, yet you're all willing to buy in to it. Where the fuck were you before the earthquake? Where was your money before this was all over the news? And you make me out to be the disgusting one :upsidedow. Argue the point or don't fucking reply. Uneducated, fallacious and browaggon.v2, hats off to the first person who gives it a shot anyways. |

I myself would never donate to another 3rd world country either... they got there for a reason, and the population seems to be content with staying that way.. if it didn't they would overthrow their government and have a revolution and change their conditions, but they can't be bothered. Don't tell me either that they can't change... the ones who were born there and come to Canada or the US by marriage or whatever have done exactly that, and I can respect that. Those that stay behind and want to live that way.. no problem. Stay and enjoy. I'd rather try to help my own family and once that's taken care of, then maybe i'll look a little beyond my circle... but other than that... i'll watch the drama on CNN. |
Nope.
But, I made some donations in my own local area. It's good to give out charity sometimes. But, some people take it the wrong way. They say to me, "You gave them so much money? You're pederas!" - Well, fuck that shit. I decide how much I want to donate to who. |
I would donate if i could find an organisation that doesn't eat most of it up in 'administrative costs'.
Would **Never** donate to the Red Cross ... virtually nothing makes it through. |
I was going to donate, but someone beat me too it.
|
if I donate anything... it goes local to me not some other country disaster or not. I'd rather help "my people" than a country that was epically fucked from the git.
