At least 12 killed in shooting spree. Guess the country.

At least 12 people have been killed and 25 injured after a gunman -- believed to be a local taxi driver -- went on a shooting spree through three small towns

If only some of the surrounding citizens had concealed carry, it all could have been prevented by the good samaritan cowboys.

You'd have to fix the part of the law that seems to get interpreted as you can't be a good samaritan cowboy first.

If I had got a shotgun certificate and owned one the law is so ridiculous here that if I shot a burglar that was in my house i'd be more in the shit than the fucking thief.

So violent over there. My gosh.

roly 06-02-2010 12:50 PM

a rare occurrence in the UK, but most that do happen over here are committed by nutjobs with gun licences. so the less people allowed a gun, the less massacres like this.

Fbomb - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-02-2010 12:50 PM

Arizona? Must be those illegals.

kristin 06-02-2010 01:00 PM

pretty much...
I grew up in a town that had a gun ownership % of around 75% and NO gun crimes...amazing, huh? Are YOU going to try and rob someone that actually owns a gun and knows how to use it?

rogueteens 06-02-2010 04:06 PM

Auntie Beeb says 12 people plus himself BTW

People don't get that... and it's sad... when you take the guns away you aren't, are NOT, taking guns away from crooks, they do not follow the law to get the guns in the first place, how is that so hard for someone to get... It's common sense, but then again when people follow what Hollywood and the Media say they don't think outside the box... it's just cut and dry remove all guns and the bad guys will go away... :disgust

Edit: ...but they don't have to get it, I am an American I have a gun and I always will... so

DVTimes 06-02-2010 04:14 PM

its at the moment 12 plus he shot hoimself - but there may be others dead - they are still looking.

by the sounds of it he was a nice bloke, but seemed to have gone a bit crazy in the last day or so.

he does not seem to be a looney with a gun fetish.

Good guess but I heard it was Brazzers.

DVTimes 06-02-2010 04:17 PM

we have 8 million legal firearms in the uk.

what i did not know was you now have to have a gun licence for an air gun in the uk. when i was a kid, most kids had air guns - they were toys.

i suspect the goverment will panick (in the uk) and bring in new laws.

DVTimes 06-02-2010 04:17 PM

the better story is the crossbow canabal.

they found body two today.

what gets me is that its only big news as its a middle class (sort of) white area and a shotgun (i think it was a shotgun) was used.

yet, almost (and i do mean almost) each day on the uk news somone is killed with a knife. its just gets a mention. ok, you could say 12 people were killed - but today they found 3 dead (one a child) (link) and it was not even on the news.

it reminds me of that documentery that american chap did on guns. he said things like this are only news becase the media (news) make it a big story.

the news shows were loving it. they got there reporters out on a nice day and had it on 24/7.

i bet if this had been some inner city part of london or manchester and a black kid had shot some black kids, it would not be a story.

but becase it was a nice place and white middle class, its a story.

they draged out all the experts today, to give there views.

and they will milk the story for as long as they can (till england play in the world cup i bet).

scarlettcontent 06-02-2010 04:43 PM

very rare incident for the UK

is it?

ok, its rare for somone to go wild like this.

but people get shot all the time in the uk.

i suspect at least once a week somone is shot or killed with a gun.

but often its in poor areas.

in manchester its not uncommon, and nottingham there is a big gun crime.

the only reason its made such news is that its a 'nice' area.

lets face it, how often does it happen in the usa? sure from time to time some nut goes wild, but when you consider the size o9f the usa. if you look at it per state i bet its not that common.

if labour was still in then they would bring in any law they could.

but i have a feeling they will hold back and see what went wrong.

they say there are 8 million registered firearms in the uk.

so thats 8 million votes oir more they could loose, if they bring in new strikter laws.

cherrylula 06-02-2010 05:16 PM

I can go to a pawn shop right now, buy a gun, and drive around with it on my dash legally.

one good thing about Louisiana. :)
