Is there any reason to use Paxum?

I've seem Paxum mentioned here quite a bit. I recently tried signing up for their service on their old and antiquated website. The amount of documentation that they ask for is absolutely ridiculous. After about 2 hours of struggling with their shitty forms and 90s interface, they rejected me because my ID was going to expire too soon. The only reason I was even interested in opening an account was to send a one time payment to someone. After doing some research there are a bunch of scam reports about them, I am now wondering if I should have even given them the info that I did. Are they legit? Is there any reason to use them over ANY other payment processor?

Their privacy policy is absolutely atrocious:

"We collect nonpublic personal information about you in order to administer our business, process your transactions, understand your needs, and provide you with products and services. We obtain nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:Information (such as your name, Social Security number, postal address, email address, telephone number and date of birth) you provide to us when applying and in requests by telephone, through this web site, and through other channels.
Information (such as your card balance, funds loading history, parties to transactions, and card usage) about your transactions with us, joint marketers, or others; and
Information we receive from other sources (such as a consumer reporting agency) in the process of verifying your application information or other information required in the decision process)."

"We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies (including affiliates) that perform services on our behalf, including those who assist us in preparing and distributing cardholder communications, and responding to customer inquiries."

I do not use them, but heard some bad feedbacks about them that their support team responds very slowly (if at all) and there are some issues with their software pretty much every week.

As far as I know, you can only use Paxum to take payments from other Paxum members. With not that many people bothering to get a Paxum account it seems pretty useless. Some affiliate programs and content selling sites pay out via Paxum though, so the only reason I would see to get an account is if you want to get paid by them that way.

I use Paxum just for receiving aff. payments (there are a lot of sponsors paying by Paxum). I pay stuff with Paypal.

:thumbsup for paxum, very convenient service for receiving payments and prepaid master card, never had a problem with them.

havent used paxum ever, but i see many affialite programs do put this option for paying webmasters, but do prefer bank transfer, paypal, and check by now.
Then listening to other people, does not seem is a good option.

Sextronix uses Paxum and Payoneer, I don't have either, and Payoneer isn't accepting U.S. accounts at the moment. Looks like Im stuck with cheques.

I can tell you one simple method for getting your payments on paypal:

1- Withdraw your payment to Paxum

2- Load money to any ad / affiliate network which accepts money loading from paxum

3- Withdraw money from your ad network account to your paypal.

Thats the way..

Most traffic networks won't allow you to do this. We don't.

May be its black hat method but I guess there is nothing wrong about it.

Because when the loading function appears the affiliate networks cuts some fee and also for withdraw they cut money. So its also for affiliate network benefit.

And again there is nothing wrong about it...

its clever thinking +1 , but most wont allow it because they are not exchange services .
actually there are very strict rules for every site.

I had to revert to Paxum for every payment because of TOS of Paypal banned me from receiving payments for adult content. Tried everything to get my account back, but they didn't want a bar of it. Once I was verified through their lengthy verification process, I've been happy and never had any problems.

I've also been (infrequently) using Paxum for years... perhaps before their verification process got so strict.

H3x 01-21-2016 04:47 AM

I use both Paxum and Payoneer, no problems with either of them!

I did use ePassporte back in the day but they were very dodgy.

NickBaer 01-23-2016 09:56 PM

Paxum. I'm in the process of adding Pay Now Buttons (variable pricing). Awful support.

Anyone here done that? Support said they don't have a Sandbox for Variable, and that I should use 2 accounts, pay from one to the other, then refund!!!!!!!!!

Nothing now over the weekend.

TBFS 01-25-2016 02:29 PM

I like paxum, fees are so much better than international wire fees we always had before XD.

But getting the account aproved was a pain :( (no experience with pay now buttons nick) sry :(

Tubthumper 01-25-2016 05:52 PM

I use paxum and payments are pretty easy. I prefer them to check or wire anyway.

LetterTwenty7 01-26-2016 12:25 PM

I do use Paxum, I like it, but this 'An error occurred' thing needs to stop. Seriously. When you need it the most, it's not working.
