I don't understand why there weren't mass evacuations before the storm

You can't evacuate the fourth largest city in the US in a few days. It would take weeks. That lesson was learned during Hurricane Rita. Freeways out of Houston were giant parking lots.

There should be a mandatory evacuation before the storm. Or i guess they did not expect it will be worst like this.

Tasty1 08-29-2017 09:19 AM

"Though criticized from afar, the decision was praised by many Houston officials and residents who remember the disaster that unfolded before Hurricane Rita in September 2005,, when local officials called an evacuation that put 3.7 million people in sweltering, hourslong traffic jams that resulted in more than 100 deaths."

Actually if a lesson was learned it would have been to devlop a better evacuation system but they just decided to not try.. Obviously no lesson was learned. FL has mass evacuations like this when there are storms there and we are talking entire sections of a state not just one city..

Honestly this entire thing is so very fucking Texas.. Shit loads of people with aditutes that they know better.. A entire state full of them.. Maybe this storm will wake a few of them up abd knock some sense into them..

Your ignorance is almost painful to watch.

An evacuation of Houston cannot be done unless the government can guarantee fuel for everyone. Otherwise they would have been stuck outside inside of in the safety of their homes.

Tasty1 08-30-2017 04:42 PM

It is just water! Sit on the second floor with some food and water and a week later it is over. Or do those people realy want to watch Netflix all day.

Most of these dime wits don't have enough fresh water saved to last them past their next big gulp or energy drink much less a few days..
