Newbie needs help

Hi guys,

I'm new to the adult business and need some advice.

1). Firstly, if I buy content from models online what's the best way of sorting out the 2257 forms and model releases? Is there an easy way of doing this digitally without actual paperwork? I won't be producing any content myself, the models will make the content then send it to me. We won't ever meet in person so I can't get them to sign any paper forms.

2). Also, do I need to ask for two forms of ID? Is one enough if I get a copy front and back and a selfie of them holding the ID? The reason I ask is some forms I've seen online ask for twos ID's, others only ask for one.

3). Regarding model releases, can the 2257 and model release be part of the same form or do they need to be separate forms? I've seen one for JustFor.Fans thats seems to combine both into one form. Does the model release require a witness? again, some forms Ive seen have them and some don't. I will be uploading some content on clipsites/fansites so would like to know I'm doing everything correct from the start.

4). Does anyone here use either Verotel or Segpay? I know both have been around for a long time but Bitsafe/Verotel seem to have some awful reviews regarding support. I can't seem to find any info on SegPay's fees but they seem to get better reviews. Ideally, I would use SecurionPay but they won't work with clients without $10k /month payment history.

5). Is there anyway to maintain privacy when running an adult site? What I mean is, I setup a company and as required have that company name on my site, so far so good. But, if someone I know googles my full name, which is quite a rare name btw, that will lead them to my company details which includes my full name on companies house (I'm in the UK). If they then google my business name most likely that will lead them to my site. How do others in the industry deal with this? Is there anything that can be done or do we just have to accept it?

Cheers for any help!

You should get an app coded for all your needs

Fairly small niche market though

Get an attorney and make sure all your shit is in order. There are criminal penalties for not keeping proper records.

I am sure that if the models are the producers of the content, then they should issue an exclusive licence to you to use that content and you don't need to keep anything as you are not the producer.

2257 is a US law, I'm from the UK so I'm not sure I could realistically face criminal penalties but I would still get ID's regardless. Also, I may wish to upload some content to adult site that are US based and they may want to see 2257 docs.

My understanding is as soon as I upload the content I become the secondary producer of that content, regardless of whether I actually produced it myself and need to comply with 2257 regs. Also, as I'll be uploading some content to other platforms, they may ask me to provide these docs.

Does anyone truly understand 2257? The fact that there seems to be a lot of conflicting advice out there and no one here has provided a clear cut answer seems to suggest no :1orglaugh

They are the producers and they need to issue a signed exclusive licence to you - they sign it and they can easily mail it to you.

Make sure that there is a clause about providing copies of their IDs and that they grant you the permission to provide the copies (their personal data) to third parties in case of verification. Having the models hold a sign with the date of shoot and "Exclusive licence granted to YOUR NAME" in the beginning of the unedited footage is a good way to quickly prove that it really was licensed to you without providing copies of the papers to third parties.

The licence should containt a detailed description of each scene, personal details of both parties, the definition of what you can do with the content and all the statements needed.

Easy. :thumbsup

you need to have 3 images sent to you from each model...

1 : photo ID , passport, driving licence etc etc

2 : a release form...

I, "state full name models name, capital letters" give the absolute right and permission to create, upload, post, display, publish or distribute my content to " your Legal Name (capital letters)", that will used in commercial reasons. By signing this document I hereby waive any right to claim from "your name" financial or any other compensation for used content in case of misunderstanding or suspended cooperation with "your Full Name"
- current date;
- models handwritten signature.

3 - clear image of model holding both the agreement and ID

These can be emailed, you donīt need the master copy, but for the model to mail it, would be preferable.

hope this is helpful....

have a great year ahead :thumbsup

What she said. If you do not have the above you are just a consumer trying to sell content you do not have the rights to. If you have all of the above then best to you.
