Do you have a plan?

I am not sure what is going on in your area, but here in Minnesota, they are closing things down left and right.

My better half is a school teacher and will be off for the next two weeks, my neighbour was laid off yesterday until the virus passes, she works for a company that deals with the airlines, another neighbour is a bartender and they are starting to close bars and restaurants except for drive-thru... and me, self employed in new business in an over populated field has already been slow. With the all the closures, I do not see it picking up anytime soon. There are a lot of people that will be hit hard with this financially.

Even some of the posts here are showing concern with sales being down so it seems adult is getting hit as well. With so many limitations and closures, people will be spending less on porn to take care of their families.

Our management company for the building is stopping all maintenance and closing their office to in person visits.... I asked them if they had anything in place for those that would be affected by this crisis as far as being late with rent, maybe waiving late fees... they had no answer. But they have no issues raising our rent an additional 45.00 a month. :1orglaugh

Sure, we can stock up on toilet paper and food for a 2 week quarantine but the bills do keep coming in.

No matter how you look at it... a lot will be without any income for at least 2 weeks. Are you prepared for this? I do have to admit, I wasn't. With all the delay we had even getting to this point, I really did not think that we would go this far. Americans love their money too much, I never thought that our capitalistic system would allow for such things. This will affect everyone, large and small.

How prepared are you?

I wish everyone the best through these times and hope that all will be well for everyone. :thumbsup

2 weeks? Get ready for months. This is going to be one hell of a ride for the humanity.

That is what I am worried about. I mean sure, close for 2 weeks, but if even 1 person is still infected, it will continue to spread. Self preservation outweighs any compassion for our fellow humans.

Definitely a thrill ride for sure.

Definitely a thrill ride for sure.

We can't get rid of it until there is a vaccine, antiviral or containment.

At this point containment is the only hope, so we can keep the numbers at a level our hospitals systems can handle. To little too late has been done by all countries so a spike is about to hit everyone's healthcare.

There is NO indication this is slowing down in Summer, Indonesia, Philippines and Australia are now showing exponential growth.

As to the plan..

Every plan I had is shattered, now its just bunker down at home, be extra careful when out, work like fuck and hopefully make some extra money from it. My income took a 50% hit today... bad fucking timing, I don't need retirement funds for 15 years so will wait the slide out and a chink of cash for a buy in... when there's hope. But my cash cow for living money is whats taken the hit.. Like I'll be ok just gotta snap into make money mode.. next week :P Fucking Searchengines..

Brian mike 03-18-2020 06:03 AM

As a small business owner working as a landscaper/ snow removal offline, i have saving for those kind of shit but
im going to get a fucking hit sooner then later if the Spring and summer contract get cancelled.

I have a wages/ disability insurance that cover all my home bills: rent, power, gaz, internet phone etc... ( NO business bills covered, only personal bills )
I need to contact them TODAY to know if im covered in case of the worst with the covid-19.
All our Alberta province is now under STATE OF HEALTH EMERGENCY since yesterday.

Also Is the time for me to Massive advertisement Flyer, door hanger and lawn sign. The question is: is this worth to invest thousands in advertisement when you don't fucking know if we will be able to operate our business in the next couple months.

That's the scary part for me. Whats next....

King Mark 03-18-2020 06:06 AM

I prepped best I can, but no real plan. Just hoping to ride it out peacefully.

I definitely assumed the schools would be able to switch to online learning easier. That's by far the most irritating thing for me right now.

Same here.... plans never go the way we hope they will, well, not always.

There is a company in Fargo, ND interested in me and we have been in communications, but I really do not want to live in Fargo. I may have to give that a little more thought, even if on a temporary basis.

I am not in desperation yet and trying to hold out for something better in the western states. 8 years in LA, 15 years in Phoenix, a few years in Vegas and a short time in Seattle, I have fallen in love with the western states. As I get closer to retirement age, that is my goal.

But with all that is going on, thinking a bird in the hand is worth it.

Things are shutting down are they? Welcome to the rest of the world.

We pretty much started shutting down last week. Nearly everything is shut down. Other than walks with my puppy I haven't left the house in four days now. Nearly everyone I know is laid off.

One of my friends is a single mother of three... She is working from home but trying to manage her three kids at the same time.... She's in a full on panic.

blackmonsters 03-18-2020 07:45 AM

My plan is the same plan I always have during normal days.

Plan :

1. Bag of grits
2. Ration toilet paper

:2 cents:

Markul 03-18-2020 08:14 AM

Food for at least a few months, weapons in the house. Bring it.

Applebite Media 03-18-2020 08:15 AM

I don't go out much to begin with.... groceries, smokes, bank.... the park now and then... Last trip to Aldi, things were thinning but still good.

I just got back from Aldi... OMG. It was like a ghost town as far as food goes.... In a matter of a couple days.... no bread, no meat, no frozen pizzas.... They had snacks thought LOL. At least my chocolate milk addiction and sugar rush is taken care of.

Yeah, we need the weapons because the coronavirus will turn people into zombies and it will be the walking dead.

:thumbsup

NatalieK 03-18-2020 08:53 AM

for now, our plan is to enjoy life as always, maybe enjoy a bbq on the roof terrace and work as always, live cam, shoot some film, of course, all vids have to be shot from home, but out on the balcony, itīs nice and horny for the fans still :thumbsup

My wife owns a hair salon and that's what is going to affect us the most. Basically she has very little customers coming in, and that will only get worse over the next weeks and months. So yeah we do have a problem incoming with that.

Interesting times ahead...

Brian mike 03-18-2020 11:03 AM

IF you know a lady that goes to a nails salon remind them to go ASAP removed them.

We don't know when this will end and they are classified as non essential business and need to shut down in the next few days if not already.

Sent my wife yesterday :winkwink: and she said the few ladies there was very worry about their job etc..

Lots of people is getting an appointment for the removal of their fake nails.

After I closed my business in Phoenix in 2010 I went to get my Cosmetology license thinking it would be recession proof... everyone needs a hair cut right. This was never a situation that crossed my mind.

Good luck to you both!

The best "plan" is to isolate as much as possible, stay in, go out ONLY if necessary. Ride it out.

As long as we can get food, drugs (legal), basics like electricity, water, etc., then we should be fine (eventually).

Focus on the 90-whatever % that get through this just fine. Stay positive. Stay realistic. Pray (if you believe in God), keep your immune system strong (eat healthy, get good rest, etc) and see where we are in a month. Or two.

That's my "plan".

Forest 03-18-2020 04:25 PM

I have a months worth of everything I need. I bought an extra fridge and stocked it 3 weeks ago.

I have 3 plans from here. One includes my RV and the desert 😂👍👌

Living in my big rig with my wife, delivering food to distribution centers, right now I have a load of Mac and Cheese going to Phoenix.
Plenty of food at the truck stops, they are taking precautions, but have to stay open for the truckers.

GAMEFINEST 03-18-2020 06:09 PM

I am good, I always plan for shit like this, always have enough funds to cover you for 6 months.

Thank you for helping to keep the shelves stocked.

If you have a truckload of toilet paper, watch your back!

I have about 2 mos of food and 2 weeks of alcohol so I'll go out in 2 weeks and buy a month's worth of alcohol. It's nice to already work from home and didn't go out much to start with but for a lot of people, things are going to get really messed up. I'm just worried about the robbing and such if and when people can't afford food. I've never owned a gun but might have to change that mindset in a month or so.

That was kinda what my comment was hinting at. It was also a bit of a joke. The only reason I have weapons is because I am a hunter ;) so it's not like the US crew that has AR15's around haha

But yea, we have food for a month - maybe two if we stretch it. I doubt it will come to that to be honest, but the economy is fucked in europe for sure for a very long time.

I disagree. Many people have that view as well though. Stay low. Ride it out.

Many experts are saying this is going to hit no matter what we do, and isolation will just delay the inevitable.

I think there are better ways, a better "plan" that can slow this somewhat and allow us to live and function at the same time.

if you have never been around guns, a gun be more dangerous to you than anyone that threatens you... you need tactical training

It will end... once a vaccine is found... just like everything else. So staying confined as much as possible and stopping the spread is the smart thing to do until there is something to cure it. Small Pox was an issue we should not have anymore... (thank you anti-vaccers) The Black Plague... and many others...

It will eventually pass, we all just have to be patient and do our part to contain it the best we can.

Loving the idiots on spring break out there gathering, spreading and now catching it. Good Job! :thumbsup

Easyboy 03-19-2020 08:29 AM

By the way, I thin it`s a good idea to close everything for a while, China did so and we must follow it to be safe

Again I disagree.

A vaccine is years away according to what I've heard. They can make one tomorrow, but the testing will take years. We can't wait this out. A Vaccine won't save us yet.

You're correct - caption was wrong.

It's been a long way from ATL, iWeb and 12 years in the PHL. I own a hotdog stand with a window in Southern Indiana. May will be our 2 year anniversary, we are #3 resto in our town (not sure what that says about the other restos in our town, lol) Biz has been up (last week anyway). We'll ride it out.
