I can't recall if I saw the 2011 one, but by chance was it the one where they actually went out and found the space craft and the dog was getting chased by the hell With the guy shooting at it? Or was that the orginal?

Keep meaning to watch it again. Think I will watch them back-to-back. Din't even realise there was a 2nd one. Not sure which one I watched TBH.

One thing that always bothered me about The Thing.

How does it replicate clothes...or find clean clothes to wear? When the organism consumes and replicates a human, it's a messy procedure with lots of blood and guts. What happens to all of that mess and how come when the "fake" version of the person inserts into the group it's not covered in bloody clothes? Is the alien also a master crime scene cleaner?

I loved the 1982 version. To me it's one of the scariest movies ever made, and one of the best monster movies ever made. "You gotta be fucking kidding me" - LoL!

The 2011 remake (?) is not bad. They used CG instead of real effects for the gore and it kinda fails on 1 level, but on another level the transformations are pretty good.

(Also, I could watch Mary Elizabeth Winstead all day. She purrrdy.)

There was talk about re-releasing the 2011 remake with the original practical gore effects in place but I don't think it ever happened.

There are some fun fan theories about the ending of the 1982 version The Thing.
