I would love to go see there. I've been to a couple of the abandoned military bases around Hungary, but would love to spend a fortnight visiting and photographing some bases in the Ukraine and Chernobyl.

Can't find anybody to go with me though (and I'm too much of a nancy boy to do it on my own).

I'm not that curious, even though it would be kind of neat. I would rather have my health:winkwink:

Now the harmful radiation in that area is very small. There is also a city called Ternobyl, but that's an unrelated city.

I could swear I saw a Documentary about that area saying that the Rads are still so high that you should not be there for more than about 6 minutes.

it varies (i read a lot about it cause i was also thinking about going there)

as long as you stay on concrete for example it's not so bad, you're not supposed to step on moss cause that accumulates radioactivity the best. at least until now you can do very closely guided tours where they measure radioactivity all the time and only let you go to save places.

That is such an amazing city, totally abandoned.

Just amazing what humankind can do. Build up a fully functioning nuclear city, blow it up and leave it and shit just stays there.

I've always wanted to go see that, and the island outside of Japan that was built by just dumping concrete into the ocean. Seems like a cool place. There are SO many abandoned places around the world it just seems interesting to see what happens when human life leaves and nature takes back over.
