Anyone here have vasectomy?
Im thinking about getting it done, and reading horror stories making me reconsider. LOL
Anyone here have experience with this>? |
Do you want a female POV? My husband had it done.
|
When he was in his late thirties, a good friend of mine got circumsized and vasectomized the same day. He was not a happy camper for quite awhile after that.
|
sure. I just always thought it was quick snip no worries get back to the sex. But Im reading about long term build up of sperm etc and its kinda more than I thought about in regards to altering the human body as it wasnt intended.
I just dont want any kids. One is all I wanted. |
Just don't have sex!
|
I had a vasectomy about 15 years ago, age 35 at the time. Minimal discomfort for a couple of days, no heavy lifting for about a week. Not a big deal really.
The vast majority of the complication 'horror stories' I've heard first hand were due to the patient not following post-op instructions. |
Got snipped (vasec) few years ago.. Not that bad at all :)
|
It mostly is quick snip and no worries. Mostly. I've been told that the discomfort after is like the residual pain of a good kick in the nads. Not the part that makes you want to puke, but the "damn, that aches" sort of feeling afterward.
If you rest like you're supposed to- you'll mostly start feeling like yourself again in a couple of days. In the meanwhile - elevated legs and ice are your best friends. A big bag of frozen peas is THE best icepack ever for your bits. :) Sex can resume anywhere from 72 hours to 2 weeks later - but it takes 10 - 20 times ejaculating before you can be assured of sterility. |
I had it done and no big deal...
|
Looking forward to mine...

I have been toying with the idea for a while. My neighour had it done, he said it was a quick snip, stick an icepack under your bits for an afternoon, and all done.
I just can't get my head round doing it. What if it breaks my penis somehow? lol. It must reduce the amount of ejaculation, lessen the pleasure of orgasms etc. What happens if it makes me have a voice like this? |
I'm amazed at how many people I know who have been snipped. I have zero desire to.
|
I can vouch that there is no reduction in production, as I have ample experience with both the before and after. :D:D
It's a nice option for birth control Jay, and significantly less invasive for a man to do it than a woman. |

I shall wish you luck, and congratulations on your future children :1orglaugh

maybe its due to the adult industry work but my wife and I have a good amount of sex, and im honestly scared shitless of another one but man i need the lovin too. and condoms, oh man, im married i shouldnt have to wear that shit. weve talked about it even before we had our daughter, that afterward one of us would. |
Had it done 10 years ago, they pull and rip the nut sack instead of cutting so it heals faster, then they cut the tubes and burn the ends, smells kinda funny. They placed the ends in a way they can't connect with each other, then put the rip back together, I was back to work the following monday, no worries. Can't even see a scar!

that is what im afraid of, i dont wanna have nuts hurting for rest of my life, jesus fucking christ, i just dont want to have any more kids lol |
Sounds like this is a perfect option for you. And if Latex is the issue, try the Polyurethane ones that are available now til you get the all clear from the doc. :)

Make sure to get the" NO Scalpel method" |
Thinking about it as well, had a few friends do it and they had no issues
|
Has your lady tried a copper IUD? No hormones, cost around 150 bucks, and last for 10 years. There are other IUDs with hormones, but this particular one (copper) has none.
My girl almost went sterile from birth control screwing up her hormones. This IUD worked out well. |
What happens to the sperm if it has nowhere to go? Blue Balls For Life? (BBFL).
I have 2 children, both planned. Before then, I've always pulled out, and have done since. 23 years in the saddle and no accidents. No snip for this kid anytime soon. We should be able to race our kids soon Fletch, my lad turns 1 on Saturday. |
Yeah there's lots of options out there... I'm just tired of all the tempoprary methods and just want it to be done and ill sit it out for few weeks but look forward to zero worry.

I had a vasectomy in 1999 but a urologist I found in a phone book. I talked to him on the phone and he eventually agreed to do the procedure in his office for me for $500.00.
During the vasectomy I was lying on my back in his office looking at 6 or 7 round yellow stained ceiling tiles and smelling my burnt pubic hair. The doctor never said a word throughout the entire procedure except when I felt great pain and mentioned it to him and his reply was "it won't happen again". This was a Friday I went to work on Saturday morning with slight discomfort but nothing really bad. I had shadow pains for a few months off and on but I didn't have any real issue with the operation. I got my vasectomy because my wife worried about taking birth control and we had two kids 15 months apart and I didn't want a basketball team sized brood. |

I would do the tubal thing before that though. Cut me, but don't insert foreign things in me. lol |
had a friend whose penis is now cut in half and horribly misshapen due to a botched operation so be careful.

Just had it done in September on a Friday. The anticipation was worse then the actual procedure. In fact, I was a bit bummed that it wasn't worse of a recovery because I wanted to be waited on a little more. I played xbox and watched wedding crashers a few times but by Sunday I was taking out the garbage.
|
Never. No way.
|
Got mine done almost two years ago now.
Couple of key things to tell you: 1) do exactly what your doctor tells you to do. After the procedure you sit on your ass and ice your nuts all day long for three days. Let your wife wait on you hand and foot for those three days 2) dont have sex early just because you think you feel ok. Just ride out the week. You will be glad you did. 3) dont try and be superman and start doing shit you aren't suppose to before the few weeks of down time your doc tells you to take off from physical activity. Follow the simple shit your doctor tells you and it is a breeze!!! Dint follow them and you will be telling us your horror stories. |
hell no!

Now down to the nitty gritty. Any decrease in pleasure from sex? That's my biggest concern. |

no sperm would waste me :D
|
And Flecth, if you need a hug ...
|
My dad got this done many years ago and he's never had any issues to this day. I'm thinking of getting this done also.

Generally not good to mess about with nature like that, here's something I've just Googled
Why Vasectomy Is Risky? Some men suffer some pretty severe side effects after undergoing the operation. How does vasectomy affect a man’s body? This is a reasonable question, which unfortunately is rarely answered, even after significant effects occur. Let’s use an analogy of a 40-year-old fire hose. You hook this fire hose up to a hydrant and turn on the water. Let the hose represent the epididymis portion of the testicles and the vas deferens, which would measure some 20 feet in length if stretched out, and let the water represent the 50,000 sperm cells a minute that a man’s body manufactures, even after vasectomy. Now, tie a knot in the fire hose. What happens? Something is going to rupture, right? That’s why fire departments don’t use 40-year-old fire hoses, and why men develop ruptures in their testicles after their vas is tied off during the vasectomy procedure. Actually, the technical term for this phenomena is a “blowout.” According to Campbell’s Urology (a textbook for urology students and doctors) “The brunt of pressure-induced damage after vasectomy falls on the epididymis and efferent ductules…. It is likely that, in time, all vasectomized men develop ‘blowouts’ in either the epididymis or efferent ducts.” I wish I had known this before I had my vasectomy and started experiencing some of the negative effects of that rupturing process. Autoimmune Responses But that’s not all. When the rupturing occurs, sperm cells enter the blood stream, where they were not naturally intended to be. As a matter of fact, nature makes a very specific point of keeping sperm cells out of the blood stream, because sperm cells have very strong enzymes on their surfaces and only half a DNA strand. What does the body think is happening? The immune system is sent on full alert to fight off a perceived infection, and the body becomes “autoimmune”, i.e. the body goes to war on itself. Again from Campbell’s Urology: “Vasectomy results in violation of the blood-testis barrier producing detectable levels of serum antisperm antibodies in 60 to 80 per cent of men….” Once this reaction starts, it is difficult to stop, even with a vasectomy reversal. It would have been good to know this also before it began happening in me. |
