When I was a kid in the 70's, science class was never complete without the day we all dumped mercury onto the lab table and pushed it around saying "cooooool!!!!!"

Dentists haven't used mercury for years here.

Dental Amalgam is banned in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

mercury fillings are not toxic unless when removed the wrong way. but i still wouldn't recommend getting new ones
