no keto for me these days. i need all the healthy carbs i can get to power through my exercise routines.

:)

PR_Glen 12-16-2010 01:47 PM

like in a row? i did 1000 reps a day back in my early twenties.. all it ever got me was tired... in my experience 45 good reps (as in slow controlled form sets of 15) out weighs a thousand quick bad form ones any day.. and saves you time! :)

how's the supplement biz treating you lately Dyna mo? seemed like an interesting product to me anyway...

webair 12-16-2010 01:55 PM

wow impressive you look like you're in great shape man good for you! Wish i could have abs like that . Sigh...

96ukssob 12-16-2010 01:56 PM

thats more than i have done in the past 3 years.

speaking of, i need to lose some weight

Zayne E. 12-16-2010 01:56 PM

My 3x a week routine is 635 reps. Believe it or not, it's my GF's routine and I have trouble keeping up with her :1orglaugh

d-null 12-16-2010 02:11 PM

are you on any kind of hrt or anything?

Jayvis 12-16-2010 02:13 PM

You still trying jack3d? I love that stuff.

kristin 12-16-2010 02:16 PM

I am on hiatus from coaching soccer until the next season starts and haven't been in the gym much. When I was actively doing it, I had 500 rep ab workout and it surprised me I could do that many.

I've taken an hour long core class at the Y, now that will burn your stomach muscles.

Nice job, keep it up! :thumbsup

dyna mo 12-16-2010 02:37 PM

thx folks!

i do the p90x abs routine 2x, i can't keep up on the 2nd cycle. there's about a dozen different exercises. i'm actually in the nutritious food biz, i am happy with it so far and it is ramping up daily. thanks for asking!

That's impressive man. You know what's going to make your abs hurt for a month? Do 200-250 pullups within a workout session with your legs at a 90 degree angle. THAT is skill. I couldn't breathe for that whole month.

Also, just started combining intermittent fasting with Keto... It's a killer yet achieves optimal fat loss.

DWB 12-16-2010 06:58 PM

That is seriously amazing. I would flat out fucking die.

You should start a thread and list your full routine and diet. I would be interested to see it and I'm sure many others would as well.

i just switched to another round of p90x, but for the last several months i've been doing what's called a 5x5 bodybuilding routine- 5 sets of 5 reps of squats, weighted pull ups and bench presses, with a bit of cardio to keep my cardiovascular health up

i think pull ups in general are good for abs, i know i always feel them in my abs!

that's a good idea. i think i will do that after the holidays, when everyone is geared up for that sort of thing.

:thumbsup

Ethersync 12-16-2010 07:02 PM

How often a week do you workout?

BSleazy 12-16-2010 07:03 PM

I should start working out. I don't do a whole lot more than 50 pushups every other day or so and I dam near have a six pack. All the beer I drink can't help :)

with the 5x5 it was 5x a week, 3 resistance sessions + 2 cardio. now it's ~6x week. 4 resistance + 3 cardio, i do a cardio and resistance combined 1 day a week.

:)

The Demon 12-16-2010 07:20 PM

Sounds like overtraining man. I've heard of the 5x5 program but have never seen it up close.

i don't have any of the overtraining signs- i sleep like a baby, haven't been sick in over a year,my energy level is higher than it's ever been and my gains continue to grow monthly.

the 5x5 is phenomenal, it's basic strength conditioning, i recommend it highly.

you look great, I am still skeptical though at your age to achieve such lean lower abdominals without hormonal or other pharmaceutical help, hgh even if not trt, or maybe grey area peptides or something, and I know some people that are into stimulants that can achieve leanness without muscle loss... you're sure that you aren't getting some kind of supplemental help? I have been lean all my life but I think I would have to do something drastic to shred my lower abdominals and gain muscle at the same time like you say, it just doesn't add up to me

congrats though, your achievements are impressive :thumbsup

Chezter 12-17-2010 02:39 AM

Great job, I think I could do like 100-150 "normal" abs at most and I'm only 26. I do harder version with legs up and my record is 82, so your number is really impressive. This year I focused on pull up with record 212 in 30 minutes, maybe in 2011 I'll focus more on abs if you have so great shape from it :)

- LOL - 12-17-2010 03:00 AM

what kind of abs routine do you do? just simple crunches?

link to youtube videos!

my results are due to consistent hard work and consistently eating right. period. as you can see with the timeline pic, i lost a lot of fat 1st- ~35 pounds, then added muscle.
no supps whatsoever at the moment. abs are made in the kitchen. a year ago, i was taking multi-vitamin pills, and a couple otc supps like jack3d/super pump 250/assault but i get ALL my nutrients from whole foods now although i will prolly bring back protein shakes due to their convenience.
but you bring up a good point, my lower abs have been my nemesis, i haven't been able to get them to pop like i want but i will by the summer.
