How many UNIQUES do you send a new program before pulling links?
 

I generally give them around 5000-7000, if they haven't made a sale in that time, they're a definite no for my traffic.

I usually get a good sample with 9K-10K .... in very rare occasions I've needed 20K to get a nice reading on the performance of a specific proggie... but yeah... if u see no sales after sending 5-7k then thats a clear flag right thur...

Ahh yes! I mean to say on a "per site basis" not "per proggy" ... poor choice of words ... but yeah... 10K is more than enough to test a landing page (aka a specific site within a proggy, no doubt about it!)

reminds me to pull some links, but for some niches there is no alternative, the whole thing is dead. might as well just leave the shit up.

Agreed, some micro niches you're just stuck with the shitty ratios. I've yet to find a sponsor site though, that doesn't pay for the time it takes to set up a basic doorway niche site, and the reg fee of the domain. :winkwink:

Three times the average ratio for other sponsors within that same niche. If a paysite gets to be worse than 1:6,000 I will remove all links even if they are the only ones in the niche.

I would say around 10K. I push every thing I test at least a week. No need in switching things over too mutch.

Indeed it depends but I tend to go on the low side.

1:1000 the best traffic or in certain niches.
1:2000 and something should bite on somewhat filtered traffic and if your product seems pretty good.
1:5000 tops if you have crappy traffic running over a bunch of links.

The question is, when do you pull the plug on the prog you sent 35,397 to (at last count) but you got 2 sales and $35 running and a $100 min. Why only $35? Cause like an idiot I was on rev share the first sale. :1orglaugh

Guess what? They are priced at $39.95. I put their links up before I realized that almost everyone above 29.xx usually converts less than steller.

You pull them right away and then send them an email or ICQ politely asking for a payout minus a small fee (or just suck it up and forget it). If they refuse, you blacklist them and maybe drop a message on the boards so other webmasters know who they are. There is no sense wasting clicks at best or at worst supporting a heavy shave sponsor.
