LOL i thought that was the way it had always been...

Agent 488 01-03-2011 02:11 PM

aimed and shady cross-sells / rebill aka "continuity" mainstream products were you sign up for a free trial and get your card banged then banged every month until you cancel it.

fatass is totally misreading it.

mynameisjim 01-03-2011 02:15 PM

Looks like a law that formalizes what the card companies were talking about doing voluntarily.

Could be an issue since now instead of just getting in trouble with Visa/MC, you could be in legal trouble.

I assume he's doing this for links and doesn't actually think this... if he does, that's pretty sad.

trevesty 01-03-2011 02:19 PM

It's just another link-bait article by shoemoney... carry on.

Shap 01-03-2011 02:21 PM

Lots of recent laws that have come about or soon will...if that is the info you were looking for.

Anyway, some cover disclosure of advertisements/marketing on all pages & email, affiliate link notices, average results for any claim, and the billing changes, which I think is truly more targeted towards the major privacy issue with sharing billing information, and then stopping fraud of course.

Agent 488 01-03-2011 02:28 PM

i thought it was link bait but he seems confused, so who knows.

be nice to see some cleanup finally

i even had to cancel credit cards because someone was banging them

i wont name names...but i setup an email address and signedup to a certain traffic provider with it....ive been joining every dating site in existence apparently since then.

there are many kinds of fraud...but out right billing fraud should come with jail sentences

Just browsed the executive summary of the bill at http://www.gop.gov/bill/111/2/s3386.

All practices that the the Card Associations have been enforcing or attempting to enforce for some time now. Legitimate merchant account providers have already included these guidelines into their underwriting criteria.
