Fremont Street Anyone?
Every year I go to Vegas for the show, I promise myself I am going to take people down to Fremont Street who have never experienced old school Vegas. I love it.
This year, I'm doing it. Anyone else love the old strip? And if anyone wants to join us - Friday, 1030pish. |
It has been forever (20 years) since I have done Fremont St. Think I may be due. Let me know when you plan on going. I might want to tag along :)

good call Kristin... in all the years I have been going to Vegas, the closest I've come to Fremont is the Clark County License Bureau. :)

That would have taken him to Cameron St., not Fremont. ;) For those looking for fun, they installed a zip-line at Fremont last October. http://www.lasvegasvegas.com/content...tos-1287746290 |
Visited last year.. sure is fucking hard to breath in any of the casinos with people smoking the shit out of the place

It's quite nice with that light show they have.
I usually go to Fremont to eat at Pasta Pirate at the California Hotel Casino. Great Crab Legs! Strong recommendation. |

Oh man! Makes me wish I didn't sit this one out.
Went and slummed it up proper last year. I fucking love old town. Somone down a yard of margarita for me ;) |
Oh this little outing is shaping up quite nicely :) Kudos for thinking of it Kristin!
|
In route I know some GREAT Asian Massage Rubdown places we can stop by for a quick visit.
|
How have you people never been to Fremont Street? Its the original Vegas.
I remember going down there well before they had that roof for the light show. It was a major dump back then. Dying.. That covering saved the place. I remember going into some of those dive hotels and exploring around the back areas and no one would say anything. It was really fucking spooky. Like that movie the Shining.. Empty!! Very strange for Vegas. Lots has changed since then, That was maybe 15 years ago. |
Fremont is the best. I just did New Years there. Stayed at The Golden Nugget and partied on the street (it was fucking FREEZING this year!) I love it!
And if you want to eat at one of the best Steak Houses in town...the Binions Steak House is AWESOME. It is so damn old school, you can almost see the ghost of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin eating their steak there on the top of Binions with a gorgeous view of all of Las Vegas. It's really a hidden treasure. |
So am I the only person that doesn't think Fremont St is anything special?

Its the history there that makes it for me. Some of it is kinda dumpy but I like it. Has a historic old school feel to it. After what Robbie said I want to check out the steak place at Binnons.. |
